The VLC North Islands Airfield pack does include a basic Waiouru update (I think because the default flatten was huge and encroached on the small valley at the Nth end of the runway). So, as always check for conflicts between flattens etc

QUOTE (omitchell @ Oct 6 2014,1:46 AM) Is this the photoreal or another one? High res photo download is just over 1GB it is a work in progress and has about 80% of the autogen done with still a little more to be updated so there will be updates for it at a latter time

I think the best idea is to work it in rather using it all , again I don't have the program to place the photo's which you now look at big moneys for, I only plug away with the material in hand placed by the others do have it .... general idea very similar to the Ashburton and Alexandria/Clyde and let what ever base cover the rest, come ORBX or VLC , the photo real can be blended in and around plantations and streets for the matter.

Dean, as you can see I hi-lighted/exposed the screens, you can only slightly pick out the difference between the ORBX and the photo, seems Mike got it first time out 2/3 years previous to it release, has ocean issue I cannot adjust- simply don't have the source file nor the placement tool for photo's. This was a project getting worked before my accident, forgot I even had it ! /blink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= blink.gif />

QUOTE (AlisterC @ Jun 2 2012,9:50 AM) But Doug, why is there such a colour difference between the left side and right side of your terrain down there below? That doesn't look right to me. In your first picture at the very top you can see your problems run onto the land as well, not just the water. If you're happy that's cool, just wondering if I'm the only one who noticed that. Edit: Nevermind, you'll have some sort of photoreal section there. /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> You are right Alister I am working with...

So are we still intending to split the 'source' files and the 'finished' files? If so, how will we denote that? (either another folder or a suffix on the zip file) Also, if we are to provide the source data (especially for things like aerial photos) then the 50MB cap may be hard? I would suggest that everyone places/groups their data in a zip file- Keeps things tidy.

QUOTE (Christian @ Apr 23 2008, 11:34 AM) Thanks for taking the initiative! Agree with everything you wrote, excellent. A suggestion would maybe to state if the airports are FS9 or FSX compatible. This way we can have two versions and identify that need work to port them to FSX. Yeah good, point, as I'm not in any real position to really test any FSX scenery.

I think SBuilder should be able to do FS9 scenery - SBuilder has been around for ages. The tutorials may be for FSX but should also work for FS9. In fact evert 3rd party program calls the resample.exe from the FS SDK. SBuilder simply automates the whole thing for you. The resample.exe are different for FS9 and FSX. In FSX everything gets compiled into one big bgl, in previous versions the images are standalone and the bgl only does the placement. What you need to do: 1) Do the tutorial 2) Configure SBuilder to use the FS9 resample.exe (should be similar to FSX) 3) When you compile an area you...

That's it Charl! So often people think photoreal = entire areas. The area doesn't need the same res as the airport does. In fact, it almost emphasises the flat and spread out nature of an aerodrome boundary if it is done separately.

Just thinking about this after the development of some airports in FSX Planner recently. I think it would be good to separate out the different aspects of the airports into different BGLs so that if some aspect is causing problems/conflicts it can be disabled. It also means if one aspect of the airport is changed (i.e. taxiway names/locations) then only one aspect has to be updated and released. For example: (ICAO Code_Type_Suffix_FSVersion.Bgl) AA_Facilities_FSX.Bgl- Contains all the AFCAD/FSXPlanner information- Runways, taxiways, parking for Auckland etc etc AA_Buildings_FSX.Bgl- Contains...
