NZFF

Well I just finished flying that route. Followed your course more or less. Man there is a dust problem at NZLX. I'll have to clean out the air filter on the 172. I used to fly all round this area on FSX. From memory you could plot a course on a map & follow it on the GPS. Don't know if thats an option on XP12. I'm still trying to perfect my RNAV approaches. Been practicing at NZDN. It's fairly easy to latch onto the ILS there. The 172 almost lands itself. I used to be able to fly the big jets into NZQN. Still got some of the flight plans on file somewhere.

Thanks toprob I thought I was going nuts ha ha. When ms2020 introduces helicopters I may move on from fsx but my simulator is a full scale MD500E. I have set my sim up with firefighterX and added a sling option to pick up liftable objects Really enjoy nz scenery and set up a base with object placement near my home in Upper Hutt Thanks heaps Rhys

I haven't thought of them as journalists for years. Objective factual reporting has long been extinct. I call them 'story fabricators' because that is what they do. They look at what is happening, and pick an item, and build a story on that. What is actually published will depend on the proprietor's political leanings and anything that may have been factual in the original will be buried in speculation and smear. Although real world there is no reason that it cannot be applied to the flight simulation world (Especially MSFS with its accurate scenery depiction). Got the same email, downloaded and read. Actually, I 'real-plan' all my sim flights like this when I am practicing local flights prior to do them IRL. I use a real E6B flight computer too! (I want to buy a metal one - my card one has too much 'play' in it) I just purchased maps for the area (Christchurch, Canterbury and surrounds), and a new aviation scale ruler (since I seem to have lost my last one) and I go through this same process, though...

Have you guys flown out to Longreach yet, to see the Qantas 747, 707, Constellation, Catalina, etc ?

I've been avoiding NZ scenery upgrades for the same reason - the scenery packs they've released for other parts of the world so far have been pretty solid.
