QUOTE (Trolly @ Feb 9 2009, 12:55 AM) I have a soundcard with the gameport socket which I bought specifically for my old joystick, so I'd be keen to take the yoke/peddels if you can't find a buyer- might be just what I need to get back into simming after not firing up the rig in quite a few weeks! However, do they both run off the same plug/wire, or can you use them both at the same time? I currently have a Saitek joystick which works a treat, so wouldn't be at all upset if the gear goes else were /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt=...

We will arrive at Omaka at 6.30am to get the Nanchang ready and will head down at around 7.00am and we should be there by 8.00am. Have to be on the ground by 8.30am as we have been given a parking space which will give us a good spot to get the aircraft in and out between the displays. We have a flight at around 11.00am which involves the Nanchang plus two other aircraft. I hope to get Wigram in the background of several of the photos and the brief says we will be flying at 1300ft agl and we should be overhead the airfield most of the time so any photos you guys could get of that formation...

QUOTE (Christian @ Feb 4 2009, 01:34 PM) Judging on how popular FS9 + addons is even now, there's a god few years of simming left and who knows what's going to happen then. Its the who knows what ?, I believe its not dead yet .... id say mothballed .

QUOTE (Peppermint @ Feb 8 2009, 03:21 PM) To be honest, I hope X-plane stays AWAY from going in the direction of being like FSX. X-plane actually has a 'real world' look to it, at least compared to FSX which seems like a cartoon. I played the X-plane 9 demo about June last year, on my old machine. The FSX demo on my old machine would struggle to get 20fps at the lowest settings it would go. The X-plane demo on the other hand, much better. I couldn't get it to display the FPS, but I tell you, with the settings maxed out I was getting at least 20fps, not quite smooth enough...

Great turn out so far, thankyou for taking the opportunity to fly one of the best Airlines around! There is still plenty of sectors and aircraft to be flown, so if you think.. you got what it takes, then come over and have a look see. Virtual Air New Zealand Cheers, Mark

Well they'd need alot of investment from someone then after that they'd still need a publisher. Plus imagine how big the engine is, and how much they've learnt over 25 years. Loosing all the code would be a very large hitch, mainly because all their work arounds etc they would've lost. However, it could still be done.

Real Environment Professional at avsim isn't too bad if you want something for free. Searching "water" at avsim, and sorting by downloads brings up some other good freeware choices.
