I do all my flying with VPA and vANZ, Air New Zealand flights. Domestic in the 733 for now, I try to fly one or two flights a day. I'm also a member of various other virtual airlines. James

I think a lot of what you've said is quite true tho- take Jon Murchison's review of the FSX traffic. It's basically paying for the free VOZ AI (albeit worldwide), the models are poor and the textures don't fit (i.e. no better than VOZ). Always ask someone if they have the model first. And be prepared to paint your own textures, because some people just cannot get it right. /dry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= <_< border= 0 alt= dry.gif />

MyTraffic and Ultimate Traffic are great if you don't mind garbage models and repaints along with make believe flightplans and lower frame rates. If that's your thing, then I highly recommend them both. I could easily squat over my monitor and pinch one off and still have better results than you'll get from payware packages using PAI version 1 models along with rehashed repaints. Sorry to be so crude, but the truth needs to be told. The results one would get after a few hours manually installing superior freeware models, repaints, and realistic flightplans is well worth the time...

I would also say that there seems to be very little logic to some of the starting positions... sometimes gates which are numerically adjacent in the dropdown list (eg. Gate 7 and 8) are not actually next to each other in the FS world! One way to figure out exactly where each gate/starting location is, is to load up the AFCAD in the AFCAD2 utility and find out what all the starting locations are... this can be easier/quicker than manually testing each starting location and waiting for FS to load the terrain/scenery etc.

QUOTE(Gazz @ Aug 23 2007, 02:10 AM) Heya, do you use FSPassengers? This is a awesome addon to mimmick passanger flights. You can start from scratch and build up a whole fleet of aircraft. Anyway, it doesn't add passengers to planes but it deffiently gives you the sense that you have people in the back. that is just one reason i don't use fsx, i can't use FSPassengers with it. it doesn't add the visual people in the back, but it adds soo much realism to your flights, every flight i do i use FSPassengere

QUOTE(Dan @ Aug 13 2007, 05:51 PM) Thanks ZK-LGD. Success! /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> It does work. I used the text you posted and there were no problems. I tried again with the VATSIM weathers. There's a garbled bit in the middle of the file that ends in 'user-agent: yandex' and this causes FSMetar to reject the file. It worked fine when I took that bit out. It still doesn't like the IVAO text file though, there might be an error in it somewhere that I haven't noticed. NOAA seems good though, with better...

Its just extra wires to me ,,having all that room taken up for a 180 view seems excessive and costly ,i far prefer just two screens maybe with a trackIR4 ,and you get to look up and down around 360 turn and as smooth as a babys bum ,what do you have all those screens doing anyway are they all just copit views or fsnav gauges and the other four for sim view etc ...?? 2 triple head to go cost like $1000, then 6 22inch screens and cards to run them, man thats alot of $$$$$ when you almost get the same if not better feeling with a track IR for about $300...

Yeah I'm curious as to how well some of the guys I fly with would handle a real dogfight as some of them are quite good and the usual reality tv shows pretty much suck as well at least dogfighting is more interesting.

QUOTE(Zöltuger @ Jul 28 2007, 04:20 AM) is it just grass, or does everything go blurry? Have you installed SP1? Thanks for the reply. Just the grass, I think, except the waves on the beach also vanish. Refresh works except after a minute or so they vanish again. SP1 is installed.

LOL its a big rhetorical question because it says "How much time do you spend on FS" not flying or anything else hahahaha I would say now that I have a PC that will "hopefully" run FS I will be using it as much as possible or just when I have the spare time but before I get it running it will be alot of work just trying to get everything running smoothly and getting all the good freeware downloads as well which I have been doing lately and that has taken ages as well.
