Yes - thanks for that - I tried FSRecorder in P3Dv3 and could only use v1.33.1 without (as you say) all the advanced tools that include the formations setups. I seem to remember in FSX, you could set each individual position (x,y) and also relative height. Adam.

Is it still a real frame hog? The weird thing when Brisbane was first released pre service pack the FPS were workable... they did the same with Melbourne scenery.

Well, it is trying to come back up, but still seems a tad confuddled. Ctrl+F5 to force a refresh got things started, but I don't think a site like that can be brought back in five minutes.

Call me old but it just isn't the same reading it on a tablet. Steve , I think its the same everywhere , this is why I get so many visitors here, love the glossy mags ... but shite there is nothing like simply pulling a book of the shelf and start reading it .. even tho you have read it before ... Tablets are to be taken , not to be read ...

Sorry for jumping in late on this one. I've got TOPCAT and use it regularly. I initially bought it and wondered what I'd wasted my money on but like most things....read the manual!. Benefits I've found - really quick to calculate de-rated take offs. After linking the program with an aircraft.cfg file you can then use the program to load the aircraft including fuel. Alternatively you can go straight to the take off page and topcat can grab weather details and the current aircraft weight from FSX and then be used to calculate take offs. Once you work out the program its easy and quick. I think...

Yeah, even thinking about it tires me out. I can remember in the good old days packing up my three kids and my niece and taking them down for the show -- on my own, it seemed easy back then.... Yep, your right Rob ... 10 years ago , no problem <_< But having to do the first and last 2 hours in the dark (for a day trip) , cuts me out . After all these years its hard to admit you have limitations , but i do.

I can imagine that Kapiti would look great in XPlane, the water is a lot better than FSX. It's a pity you can't just pick and choose the best bits from each sim.... I listened to the interview with Dovetails Stephen Hood, admittedly at the time I'd had three beers, which is my limit these days, but I did think he made a lot of sense. He did say that long-term Dovetail wanted to make the best simulator ever, so I'm reasonably happy that there's a great future for simming. As I said, though, the best bits won't come this year or the next. By the time I retire (5 years) I'd be happy to know that...

You need to get the installer for the version of P3D you have, There are usually some changes to the way things are done in P3D so teh installers have to be updated, this is a P3D thing not Orbx. Of course one they are installed you can update them through FTX central.
