Although I'm pretty much committed to NZCH for a while (working towards X-plane and Aerofly FS2 versions for a while yet after the Prepar3d/FSX version) the Wellington photoscenery is still a real option. I have two kids living in Wellington, and they both are keen to have me visit. Ha, they'll learn... I have said I'll visit after I release NZCH for Prepar3d, so if I plan it right I should get to see a lot of the place. I still have thousands of city photos, which I haven't even sorted through yet. So Woofington's might actual be on the agenda!

I'm looking forward this this also, pre-purchased and can't wait for the release. Coupled with RealNZ Dunedin and the new Mlviz ATR 72-600, will make for a lot of fun.

Nailed it Robin!!! Turns out no SP was installed. Installed both SP1 and SP2 and wow.... what a difference. Loading has sped up to what I remembered before too. Had to reinstall orbx because the mesh seemed screwed up. I had the south island almost part of the Wellington coastline lol. A very happy camper :groupwave: Cheers, Paul

It seems like I've made no real progress during January, so no closer to giving a release schedule for NZCH. I did mention an issue with Prepar3d v4 following the 4.4 update, which has been driving me balmy, and no real closer to a solution. And of course summer's here with a vengeance, so sometimes it is just too hot to work!!! Also, all week I've been trying to solve an issue with my site downloads, which were giving errors to everyone. This has now been fixed, but for a while I was thinking that I'd need to move away from Cloudfront -- it's freaky how much I rely on them, and how little...

Great info, thanks Rob. I need to check again what I already have installed from you that might use SODE (like Dunedin, for example); I did a "Client Update" and "Scenery Update" for P3Dv4.4 recently, so perhaps I do need to reactivate SODE as you suggest. I'll probably do that when you release ChCh and I 're-activate' my enthusiasm for the sim! ;) Cheers

Yeah, the Subscription/compilation scenery is only partly annotated with autogen, it really depends on the available data -- if there are building 'footprints' available, then there are plenty of buildings, otherwise it means placing them manually -- something which in an 'ongoing' project. There are still a lot of places not covered by footprint data, which is a nuisance -- when it is there, it is great! Thanks for the comments and feedback, appreciated!

Yes agreed. The gates work well with the iFly 737 after I tweaked them but the AI just doesn't seem to want a bar of it. I may have to slew the aircraft around until I get a position where it works. NZDN Gate 1 is tricky because it is fixed. Gate 3 has wheels.

Sounds good, thanks @Doug One of these days when I not landscaping, assembling shelves, putting up washing lines, etc, etc, etc ... I may even get to download and install. Still have my various Saitek panels to get working again yet ... tbh, I keep getting side-tracked by theHunter:Call of the Wild! ;)

Nothing immediately springs to mind, but there are a few things you can check. First, the priority -- when Vector Land Class adds itself to the Scenery.cfg, it changes its priority, but if this doesn't work for some reason -- or you choose not to have it edit the scenery.cfg -- then you'll need to set the priority yourself, as explained in the manual. Some of the airports you mentioned have elevations stubs in Scenery\world\scenery. (Not all of them, though.) It would be worthwhile checking these to make sure these airports don't have more than one stub there. I'm not sure what would affect...

The edge of the Real NZ photoscenery is just outside the right-hand marking, so this is FTX NZSI landclass polys -- representing Nelson Pine Industries? When attached to commercial/urban landclass, this normally blends better, but in a rural setting it does stick out a bit -- which I guess is the same in real life:) When I made Nelson, there wasn't always high quality aerial imagery available for free, so the imagery was limited. These days, I'd be more inclined to include photo scenery as far as you could see from the airport. P.S. just saw your post count, welcome to NZFF! Glad you are...

That's actually the best plan, but I've had to devise a way to cater to everyone -- this is trickier than you'd think. What I'd like to do for v4 -- and v3 -- would be to use the 'new' install method, which doesn't involve adding scenery to the Library. This means that a sim reinstall or update would automatically pick up the scenery. However the autogen config merger tool doesn't yet support this, so I'll leave everything as-is. At least I've managed to remove the scenery library editing from Prepar3d 3 and 4 for all the current installers. Now Prepar3d itself adds the entries, so there's a...
