MS certainly seem to have dropped the ball with FSX, and their 'service packs' only seem to make things worse. I'm not considering going back to FS9 yet (although it is still on my PC and not in danger of being uninstalled). I certainly don't intend to install SP2 or 'Deceleration' though.

QUOTE(toprob @ Sep 28 2007, 03:59 PM) Do you get an error message? I've had a look at the autogen around there, and there's nothing unusual, except for a handful of vege polygons north of Te Puke. What area is visible when it crashes? What autogen setting do you use? No error message, just a direct CTD. Crash occurs at a any height, in two different airframes so far. Autogen is pretty far right (maybe one off maximum). Area would be somewhere over the Papamoa hills, or perhaps on the junction between Tga and Rotorua.

I guess The whole thing comes down to compromis in trading off performance for eye candy. I am able to get a good mixture of both so I'm happy. In saying that though I have very little in the way of add ons installed yet so that could slow things up a bit. Keep up the good work Robin. Be assured it is appreciated in this neck of the woods......Roll on Tauranga Cheers Peter

Ah ok yeah that would be it id say graphic cards when the are really hot or have been running for a long time will start to play up sometimes just giving up with the whole screen as graphic fuzzys or just parts of the screen like if you had media player in the background or other windows displaying behind the fs screen .. glad its ok now yeah just keep that in mind ... /groupwave.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :groupwave: border= 0 alt= groupwave.gif /> another problem solve /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

I get the same result, really. I think it has more to do with that nice textured overlay which FS2004 gives to this type of scenery.
