The mesh is the shape of the land (hills, valleys etc) The landclass defines what type of texture is on the land (farmland, bush, residential areas etc) The topo defines the shape of the coastline, lakes, water ways, roads and adds other objects.

QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Jul 6 2009, 08:44 AM) I assume it was a flatten that you had not installed correctly?? if the runway was at sea-level it sounds like the ARP (Airport Reference Point) file was installed OK... but the flatten to remove the 'molehill' was missing. cheers, HCP I reentered the scenery on the directory and I changed the priority around as well I think

Well I should add on I'm only impatient when it comes to buying video games cause they're exciting things /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Also I get angry when a Piper nips infront of me on my perfect ILS Approach into Wellington with Huge crosswinds and nearly no visibility in a 737 making me go around. I actually ended up landing over it without any clearance. /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif />

Hi Jamie As Lawrie wrote - you need to download & install the landclass separately. (You probably did this already in 2005, otherwise some of the lakes will look a bit funny) Christian

YIPPEEE!! Only saw this thread yesterday and has solved my problem. It happened a month ago and my comp was displaying desktop when the screen went black for about one second. When my wallpaper came back on, my icons on the desktop were mixed around and several shortcuts had lost their links, and I had now acquired two coastlines for NZ. I have been messing around with it ever since trying different things to fix. Boy, am I happy to find this thread. Thank you gents. /notworthy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= notworthy.gif />

Did you by any chance install the FSX topo patch? If yes, that's you're problem, the patch only works if you own Roads & Rivers. Cheers, Christian

I have the topo and mesh packaged patched for FSX. Still works well except for coastlines sometimes, and Wanganui has a hill in the middle of the river. Otherwise excellent. A must have.

Hi Scotty Urban roads are optional. Even without urban roads installed, you get A LOT of roads. If you decide to install the urban roads you get ALL roads like in your local street map. There are over 3500 airstrips in the scenery, so yes there are A LOT of private strips. These are done a grass runways and not as real airports so they follow the terrain (real airports have to be flat in FS). Cheers, Christian

Glad you got it working 1) though it doesn't say to in the instructions, do we need to add the Mesh in the "add Scenery" inside FSX? Like we do for the scenery folder. yes 2) Whats a good setting for "Mesh Complexity"? "Mesh Resolution" - 19 This is the only relevant one for mesh and 19 is correct. 3) Is the NZ Land class automatically installed or do I have to manually install it? I ask because the Malborough Sounds is geogphically correct, but sand hills instead of bush clad slopes. It's installed. FSX has terrible textures. Grass looks way too dry. The...
