Just to add my two pennyworth...... I recently installed JustFlights TrafficX and it seems ok, but limited for NZ. One thing to watch is that it takes about 15-20 minutes to build up, so if you launch into the air rapidly then you will find the airports and skies rather empty. Thanks for the info on the other AI packages, might try them as well, smooth landings.

Has anyone got this yet? I'm anxious to see how it stacks up against Active Sky / X-Graphics. I was going to use my voucher from my screencomp win (YAY!!!!!) for ASX (I was going to buy X-Graphics) ... but I'm in two minds. The other HiFi offering is PAX. The way I fly, my passengers will be screaming/puking all over the place, so my PAX rating will stay in the negative!!! What should I do, folks?

QUOTE (BigBird @ Nov 18 2008, 09:27 AM) What Naki said. The Captain Sim C-130 is awesome! /whathesaid.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :hesaid: border= 0 alt= whathesaid.gif /> Another nice thing about Captain Sim if you're not in a tearing hurry is that they have regular sales. In fact it's Thanksgiving this week and looks like they're having one at the moment ... I think when I got mine I paid $USD20 (legendary, for FS9) including the 130J expansion pack /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> Gary

QUOTE (Leon @ Nov 15 2008, 03:18 PM) I have downloaded a couple of planes but dont know how to install them, could you please help me out. Tell me the best sites to download planes from (that I dont need an account for) and how to install them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some auto-installers simply need you to enter your FSX location. For manual installation, most download packages include a short .txt file telling you how to do it . Usually, there are 4 steps: 1) Extract the complete aircraft folder into FSX/Simobjects/aircraft 2) If...

Just beware that you will lose all repaints that you've added to default aircraft. The repaints will still be there, but Acceleration does something to all the aircraft.cfg files which seems to restore them to how they were originally. I wished I had backed up all my aircraft, but in the end took it as a good time to have a bit of a clean out. I have noticed a slight increase in performance on my laptop. The AFG b300 is an FS9 aircraft. When first loaded into FS9 it uses the default King Air 350 gauges for it's 2D panel, this is in the readme which AFG put out, also there was/is a whole lot more reading in the document folder. An update for this aircraft was put out so that the aircraft could be ported over to FSX.Afg at the time they did this aircraft were only doing aircraft for FS9,as none of the members had FSX,so,they were not able to test any work for FSX.The update addressed a lot of issues for the 2D cockpit in FSX.As regards the prop textures,I must admit that I never took a lot of...

QUOTE (gokanru @ Sep 20 2008, 11:59 PM) In the same vein, Google around for the hack that makes FSX recognise RAM over 2GB (worked for me). apologies for the highly geeky/technical nature of this post This is technically incorrect... it is about "Address Space" which is not the same as RAM... and whether or not FSX can use more than 2Gigs of Address space is dependent on how the executable was compiled (ie. LARGEADDRESSAWARE)... FSX SP2 is compiled as LARGEADDRESSAWARE, so can use more than 2Gigs of Address Space should you put in the /3GB option... note that the /userva...

when you add any 3rd party ai, the default ai automatically gets removed. you could try finding some ai for anywhere, install it, and you will see none in new zealand. or you could install GNZLAP, WoAI and VOZ, all of which use ai specific aircraft and hence have low polys

QUOTE (creator2003 @ Oct 17 2008, 02:25 AM) Yes that is correct it does just replace files and will come up sp2 Many thanks for prompt reply. I needed that to be confirmed before I went any further. Having been on FS9 the only program I have at present for FSX is "Across the Strait" so will give that a go with fingers crossed LOL.

Yes to the first question there is a tool to convert textures but in saying that there is alpha channels take need to be exported out with the model in fsx and if done for fs9 would show white or see through ,but see through agn and stuff .. the short answer is no this scenery wont work properly anymore with FSX because of the texture and the way it was all exported out of the FS9 sdk ,you could exclude the textures and models that use that offending texture or not use it at all and build a new one ...

hi john, this is true of the fs9 a/c that are ported over, sp2 changed alot of things including the props, i know some people have subsituted a problem prop witha FSX native disk, mainly by copying the textures, have a search through the avsim forums, i do remember seeing a fix for it there, but just cannot find it

QUOTE (creator2003 @ Sep 25 2008, 08:07 AM) I still have my mesh and topo installed to match up right with godzone and form the coast lines etc .. the fsim from what i have read around here will auto pick up the best mesh for the job i set mine at 19 m ..not sure why the realnz has a problem as all mine work ok in FSX so i would just do those installs slowly one at a time and test each one as you install etc... good luck on the new install ,something i enjoy each time i do it .. Thanks for your comments. I intend to do as you say and do them one at a time. It sounds as though you...
