Er, Gidday! I wonder if you could extend your kind offer of August 8th to a JAFA? I've just installed the RC1 Vista on my No 1 computer and as I have a monthly download limit of 1Gig, downloading is not practicable. I'd be happy to send a couple of CD's and a suitable amount (could you suggest a figure?) to cover postage, and look forward to a reply here or email (PM?) You would gladden the heart of one who lives North of the Bombay Hills! Cheers Ted

I suppose, but wasn't that already implemented in FS9 default (B744, B772)? Sorry if I'm wrong, just haven't flown default for such a long time... :P Alex

Man those new virtual cockpits look amazing! I'm absolutely loving that scenery; obviously I'm not expecting it'll look anywhere near that good on my PC but it should still be a massive improvement on FSX. Does anyone know if there are powerlines now? The wire-less pylons in FS9 always looked rather silly to me, and Lock On has wires in it and they look fantastic so it can be done. :P

I hope well be able to turn these features off, With all those little features ther must be some prety big performance drops <_< No I don't think you can turn this type of eye candy off. When your PC is drawing a squillion polygons for the 3d models and goodness how many Megs of textures I don't think a couple more animated polys (eyelids) will make much difference !! What makes the biggest difference on my system is the amout of AI traffic (planes, boats, cars) Deane

I've posted some screenshots of my Auckland City scenery in FSX in the screenshots forum. The Harbour bridge doesn't exist is beta FSX, but I don't know if will be in the release. I've yet to check the night textures and Auckland traffic. I've had a look at Wellington with my new photoreal, and its amazing to see the cars moving on my photoreal roads. However they only appear on a few roads.

I'm beginning to get second thoughts about the whole "lets-rush-in-and-buy-it-on-launch-day" thing too. I mean, we can't afford it at the mo, our computer's nowhere near having enough specs to have it looking good, and like the Big Z said they'll just patch it. I can';t wait to fondle a new copy of it, but hell, I work at DSE - I can fondle it as much as I like and GET PAID FOR IT!!!!!

yeah i was wondering if i could use them with ez scenery at the time just adding them to an addon scenery folder ,like the default fs9 library that i can use now i dont have any need for just the textures as i make my own up for scenery object , would be nice if we could use the aircraft backward compat like with fs9 and fs2002 but i think this mite change with a real copy of fsx not demo aircraft ,,but i could be totally wrong mike

Quite frankly, FSX sucks on my dud graphics card. Even with the lowest settings, I only get 5fps around St Maarten, and the textures are always blurry. Even when they sharpen up to their normal state, they still don't look as good as the FS9 photoreal..
