Rob I should have a PDF copy of the tarmac markings thanks to a contact at CHC. I will pass on when I get it. Sounds brilliant, thanks! May have to wait for an update, as I need to finalise NZCH and get it ready for release.

Hi Kelvin I did try your tool but after I dropped my files into the same ones where you had your examples, nothing happened. I thought possibly that it required something that I did not have on my PC. I may try again later but I am now hitting space problems on my hard drive again.

Thanks Choppernut and Toprob for kind answers. ToProb, I will try luck with freeware NZQN and see if it looks good!! From looking at your screenshots via your provided link, I cannot figure out how in the heck you get so beautiful ground textures and realistic mountains surrounding NZQN! Regards, Aharon

Welcome, Mike. I've heard from someone else (or was it you?) that the captcha feature on signup here is a bit of a nuisance, maybe the admin can have a look at that. We shouldn't be making it too difficult these days, it isn't as if we get too many new members to cope with... I'd certainly recommend your method to anyone looking to make their own photoscenery, for some reason not a lot of locals have tried this out. I think, though, that Kelvin is looking at something he can share, which means that the normal servers are not options. But for anyone who wants large areas of photoscenery to fly...

Don't worry too much about priority for these, just let the installer handle that. Airports are normally just added to the top of the scenery library. Okay thanks Toprob I'm not sure what you have for Gisborne, though. I am using FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 for this Gisborne scenery that I found on flightsim as seen below: FSX - FSX Scenery FSX Scenery--Gisborne Regional Airport Name: nzgs_gisborne-4x.zip Size: 4,467,215 Date: 06-10-2014 Downloads: 1,525 FSX Scenery--Gisborne Regional Airport. Welcome to Gisborne Regional Airport, situated on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand....

Gave myself a break from trying to adapt Cloudport airfields to new locations. On the IPACS forum, I found there was info on converting FSX/FS9 airport bgls to put into AFS2. This does not put the complete airfield into AFS2 (although it looks as if it could be persuaded to); what it does do is get the airfield on the map in the location screen, and when you select it, you get the diagram to pick your start point, and you are then placed 'on the photo'. The first one I tried was Lawrie's NZTH, and it worked like a charm. Then I tried VLC Whitianga, which didn't, and then old FS9 Coromandel...

By the way, the only old scenery site I'm aware of that's still alive is this one: …..some 2000, 2002 and 2004 stuff there. Goodness, that takes me back! I think that was the very first NZ scenery site I ever looked at. Would have been on FS2002 then! Time flies when you're having fun...

Here's the old 'Real NZ Rotorua' ToProb, You might think it is old but just would like to let you know that I finished extremely successful installation of your NZRO and saw amazing rich green lands with rich green trees along with amazing terminal, cars, vehicles, buses, hangars with specific company names, rich green water in lakes and rivers, and superb taxiways as well as passenger aprons with cool markings. And it does NOT look old to me. It looks NEW to me especially you put photoreal ground textures around the airport!! Amazing stuff Thanks a zillion for your kindness. Regards, Aharon

ToProb and anyone who wants to use NZMC for FSX, When I said I gave up on NZMC, my mind and my guts still kept telling me not to give up because they kept reminding me that I was NOT born quitter. So I kept rackling my brains and FINALLY figured out how to solve the MYSTERY of finding perfect scenery of NZMC for FSX use!!! NOW, my NZMC Mount Cook is WORKING with all taxiways and airport ground aprons!!! I got a complete awesome freeware NZMC scenery completed with all buildings and terminal although without cars or buses but that is great price to pay for giving up cars and buses! How did I...

A post on the Orbx forum reminded me that I needed to add Milford Sound to this thread. The Orbx post did point out that Milford didn't work without the SI region, but this only really applies to the default mesh. The problem was that the default elevation mesh has always been damaged at Milford Sound. It actually looks like when the mesh was put together, it included the cloud cover, rather than the ground, so you get huge rolling 'hills' where there should be some sharply defined features. However if you have some other mesh, like VLC, then Orbx Milford works perfectly well just dropping it...

Well that's good news. I suspect it'll be next year at the earliest. Now that I'm developing for XP in NZ, it's becoming painfully obvious how bad the current mesh is.

Hi Kelvin No problem beta testing however I am an oldish bloke (60's) so it will need to be simple. I was going to get into masks on FSET but decided to do "rough and ready" first before undertaking the tough bit. Please let me know when you are ready Thanks Jeff No worries, it should only be as simple as dropping source files into a folder but would be good to get some feedback as it's a completely automated process but there are settings which I need to document. However, you can leave everything defaulted in the config file and just run the program. I'm tidying up a couple of...
