Vector Land Class uses elevation data as good as Orbx, but still manages to blend airports to the AIP. This makes it a lot easier to mix and match addons. I love what Orbx has done for the sim worldwide, but I will always have a problem with the exclusivity, especially for NZ, which is 'finished' as far as Orbx is concerned. Orbx are not going to produce any more NZ scenery, but it will remain against their EULA for anyone else to use Orbx libraries etc. So compatibility becomes a bit of a hack, going forward. Microsoft always left things open for developers to use their libraries, and pretty...

Funny Chi, I the chance to play around with 3DMax twenty years back but back then it did not nor could it be used for FS .. It is nice nice when people reconize those arty farty skills , given the opportunity to tinker with it .. then the limited licence run out .. wasn't prepared to pay for back then the 14,000$ price tag

Thank you Ian and Robin, Well I will just have to wait until you release them. Along with any other airports or airstrips that you release individually, I will be more than happy to hand over my credit card. Kind regards, Tim.

There was a small file that co-insided with Mikes Hamilton , Te Kowhai but did not sit on the photo scenery very well and Matamata was getting look at, Famed NZ aviator 'Cliff Tait' stomping ground but due to lack off photo material it fizzled out quite a few years back.

FSX SE seems to only have issues with dll. files that are not yet compatible. I have installed NZNI,NZSI and Global in FSXSE and apart from the dll. files it works fine. Hopefully these dll. files will be updated for SE as a lot of addons do use them. To make life easier I would recommend using flight1 FSX registry tool for FSXSE. Hi ya Gav , sneaking around the bushes so to speak :) ..... Now related to scenery how is your B-52 base going for New Zealand .. whoops I mean OHAKEA :D .

Heya Rob, thanks for the reply, I know your busy mate so I'll delete all the scenery and re-install it again. This time I'll really keep an eye on it, its very easy to get lazy. I'll let you know how I get on with it. I did have it all good before but because Ive only just purchased Steam I wanted to install FTX NZNI which I'd deleted when I got rid of FSX, so after re-purchasing NZNI I un-installed everything then started from scratch. This time I'll keep an eye on every package that goes into the library, keep ya posted :) Andy

Is there a technical reason for this? Or a marketing thing? The only thing I could think of is the guids of a new "optimized" (draw call batching?) would mean they can't just replace the old models, but you can copy the guids to match. Is that how autogen recognises each tree? Not entirely sure, but normally the autogen vegetation is controlled by the autogen descriptors -- the agn files just have a GUID to a class of vegetation, which is defined in the autogendescription.sbp, pointing to a selection of individual tree models, so you could leave the autogen class GUID the same, just...

Thanks, Rob - I will have a look at that tool. I use ADEX ('cos it's free) and that means a lot of trial and error, so anything more 'live' would be great. I was tempted to just stick an Airport Locator on the photoscenery, but it is not terribly flat. Looking around the 'net, I see the parachute people have a building and some picnic tables, as well as a Fletcher and the usual fences and signs, so it can be made into a pretty project.
