That scenery is pretty out dated now, so I could not even get you the answer from the depths of my old work. From memory back in my early FS scenery design days most such textures were based on the default for the FS version it was designed to work with. The simplest solution would be to download that scenery again and extract all the textures. Failing that, then you may have deleted the default tree textures from your sim.

Bloody UAC again. You'd think they'd just send out a new service pack that makes it suck less wouldn't you? So yea, I got that sorted. Annotated one of my own. Now to get my hands on some GeoTiffs and make some real scenery! Thanks, guys.

Was good for a play around but I'm not going to dabble any further. In fact I am seriously considering going back to FS9, after a medium flight last night my system was crippled when landing at WN. All texs washed out and wouldn't sharpen up. I'll wait till I can upgrade my PC, which is 5 years old now and struggling with FSX /sad.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :( border= 0 alt= sad.gif />

I have it too. In FSX there are a few small issues like the coastlines etc. But still a joy to fly over /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

I managed to create a polygon, set its altitude and compile it but it had no effect in FSX. To check my methods I created a small land class around said area and the land class seemed to work. No luck with the polygon. Any advice?

QUOTE (Fox @ Jan 26 2010, 10:49 PM) ...but with FS Scenery it doesn't seem to go through a complex renderer like that? GMAX doesn't need a renderer, as the game itself renders the final scene.

Yes thanks heaps. I do this with my FS9 install, but have wanted to do it for some time with my FSX install. I found the file in the top monthly downloads thing. It might be just me, but I wish there was some sort of filter to turn off all the A.I files in those lists. There are no doubt many brilliant files slipping under the radar simply because of all the lists being dominated by A.I downloads. Who seriously downloads all that? lol

Thanks for the quick reply. My old Dell is running FSX pretty well, running old RealNZ Wgtn quite well, just the 3d buildings that slow me down a bit. textures don't seem to hit me that much so I'll see how it goes.

The default NZ mesh is 75 metres, although based on 90 metre data. Since the Red Baron mesh is also 75 metres, I guess it does come down to priority here. Yes, it would make more sense if I'd said that the tunnel was being upgraded -- it was basically a few slabs of concrete and piles of dirt when I was there in 2006.
