QUOTE (happytraveller @ Aug 18 2009, 09:34 PM) Interested to hear how many others at NZFF are also uninstalling scenery? Bit of Spring cleaning?? I must admit that I'm often tempted to make a note of my *essential* scenery, then my favourite aircraft ... and then do a complete re-install. So many experimental add-ons I've tried must be killing my FSX. Yet ... somehow, it still soldiers on! I do get the odd issue, but I have to say that for such a complex piece of software - living side by side with relatively "unproven" add-ons, it does a pretty fine job. I...

The problem isn't with your scenery. It's with your weather programme. FS9 can display visibility from unlimited right down to nine feet. With visibility less that nine feet, FS9 doesn't know what to do and displays 3D objects in white. The minimum you can normally set your visibility with the FS9 weather function is 0.1km. I use FSMETAR for my weather and occaisionally I get a poorly formatted METAR for an airfield. FSMETAR gets confused and sends a VISIBILITY=0 message to FS9, which displays the errors you have seen. I put some made-up METAR files into FSMETAR to give a...

QUOTE (Syncop8r @ Jul 31 2009, 09:16 AM) In the same way that TreesX for FS9 provides an alternative to the default trees (smaller, more numerous etc), is there a library of buildings better than the default ones that anyone can recommend? I find most default buildings are too big and I am not amused with amusement parks appearing. Many payware addons change things like that,............ such as Ruud Faber's FScene 4X that i use. There are number of freeware AGN building replacements,.......... a couple that come to mind offhand are............ Autogen3D.zip by Valentin Caseres....

QUOTE (captainherc @ Jul 29 2009, 05:54 PM) Would doubling up on Afcads also cause my problem. At NZWK when at end of runway I have grass hills in front of me. I can taxi through and then when airborne at say 50 feet I can see the sealed runway. I have two Afcads for this airport. On in the NZWK scenery folder located in AddonScenery and one in this "scenery AFCAD's etc" folder in Addon Scenery. Please help. Never heard of a folder in FS9 named "Scenery AFCADs etc" in FS9s Addon Scenery folder. This is obviously something you have created yourself for whatever...

FSXKML is what I used to flatten the area around the runway and the various valleys in MilfordSoundX... I also used it to exclude Autogen and create the grass texture around the runway...

Not that I am a scenery expert but would't the flatten cover all of Ardmore and not just the runways? The change to flatten elevation has no effect at all....odd.

QUOTE (howick @ Jul 24 2009, 04:23 PM) I was under the impression that Dan is doing a service pack with an improved FDE rather than a V2.0 of the Pax ATP and release the ATP(F) for the first time? Or am I mixing things up here? P.S.: Just saw your lovely Air Freight NZ repaint /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif /> I am not sure of exactly what is happening and when ,only that Dan has a proper Cargo model version of the ATP that he is almost finished,..they have done their own Atlantic Airlines paint scheme for that so out of...

QUOTE (howick @ Jul 19 2009, 11:26 PM) Thanks for your feedback! @Lawrie: Looking forward to your Haast scenery. Any chance you could hint me at a place from where I can download the Hugh Palmer scenery? I have googled for both files, but the results returned nothing or just dead links. As far as i remember, they were both ONLY on Avsim,............ and we know the sad story there,................ If you PM me with your e-mail addy, i'll send the Hugh Palmer one to you................... Lawrie. /New_Zealand_etc.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= >nzflag< border= 0...
