Usual gentle breeze for the Airbus' landing eh? Shots 7,8 & the last one, Jon  My next round of aircraft pics is going to focus on wheelnuts  - hell we've all seen the front 3/4 of most of 'em by now.

Not sure, wouldn't be surprised. I have to say they were in amazing condition. Some of the other photos I took were extreme close up's, you can tell the hours and love that have gone into these aircraft, simply wonderful to see.

What a great experience that must have been HEVN- wish I was there too :P The photos of the British winter make me feel a little homesick- even here in the sunny Southern Hemisphere... feel like flying down to Shoreham one day and snapping some photos for me? ;)

Well in actual fact I'd prefer whale of a big jet (not an a380 though - bleh) than the Lear 60 or BD700. You could do so much more! Take off, switch on the AP, go bake some muffins in your huge kitchen, do a few laps of the pool, play FS, go to your own private buffet restaurant, jump on your bed, play on the playground, watch the Bill on your a billion inch flat panel TV, go on NZFF, go on msn and talk to James and Alex, sample carpet sample books, hop on IVAC or VRC and tell some idiots what to do, make humungus cake and lick the humungus bowl, spend a while at your own private...

Brilliant photos Jon- thanks ever so much for sharing! It's neat how our NZFF community members are getting to meet each other in real life too :) ..before the darned battery died on us (it went flat as the Yaks were taxiing, and shortly after -TAF had taken off) I know the feeling Zac- horrible isn't it <_<

Cool snaps Alister, thanks for sharing! I have flown on a Qantas 737 from Auckland to Christchurch (and back) before and loved the rugged South Island scenery. I was on the red eye Qantas flight QF4172 That got me confused- I thought Red Eye meant a night time flight? I was on one this Thursday coming from OOL to AKL, and had a loverly view of the Auckland and Manukau city lights out the window, yet my camera would not pick up very much light, which sucks, as it would have made for some great pictures

I wonder where NLN is going, and why it is being sold? I find this strange as Air Nelson have just purchased a new Saab 240(ZK-NLM) from Regional Air Express in Australia... As far as I know, quite a few of the 340's are going to Air Raro, which will replace their banderanties (sp), then eventually Air Raro will get the Q300's once they start to come thru Air Nelson..... and LAME's for the 340's become scarce.....

I did note all the hangy downy bits under it, looks like it could do fire fighting work as well? Its a rare visitor here, very distinctive sound as you'll know, maybe 'Rick' was having lunch on his 'boat' parked alongside? ^_^

Great to see the real thing, RealNZ NZRO is pretty good if you compare. Great shots too, and you have a lovely toy, looking forward to more. Now can somebody explain the amazing painted apron turn signage?? My 737 never seems to be able to end up in the right spot
