Wife got the SLR??? :o OK... nice record set nonetheless, for posterity. Lucky cameras have gotten cheaper over the years. Mind you, I shoot everything with a phonecam these days. About 70% of them are usable.

Great pics what aircraft is this and do you have any others 1604_IMGP0045 ? I saw it take off in the distance in Wellington from the Terminal It's based in Wanaka, and has been here since Aug 2014. Late last year it did some flying around the Pacific which would of been fun.

That explains there flight plan. I knew the Kc-135 and F-16s were tanking up in Christchurch before flying across the ditch but certainly a change of plans. I was told that the Kc-135 will have another 50 years left flying and when it retires it will be just over 100 years old.

Thanks guys. Deeknow the Devon flew for the first time in a number of years a few weeks ago. Charl- that is the last time those two Strikemasters will perform in NZ as they have been sold to a company in the US who do CAS work with the military and have a fleet of Strikemasters. This company has cornered all the spare parts so parts are now hard to come by and expensive. So no option for the owner unfortunately. There are still two Strikemasters in the country but not sure whether they will stay considering the situation.

Co-incidentally: I learned many years ago one put a low rated B-29 engine or so I was told into a vehicle specific Utah's salt lake speed champs , apparently it was fatal and the thing flew apart on itself .
