$150pp! Was thinking about a family holiday there but with 5 of us thats a big hit...no thanks..Gold Coast it is. Was interested in the Bandit ...it would apprear that it is no longer airworthy. The 747s of Air Pacific aren't going to be around for much longer....they have smaller A330-200s on order (after cancelling the 787 order)

QUOTE (Gavin Conroy @ Mar 4 2012,7:38 AM) A new restoration project is coming to NZ soon (not my place to say what it is yet but it is very rare indeed) Can't help this itch ... Fighter or Bomber ? rare meaning one has been done or a totally new never done before type that makes it rare ?

QUOTE (huff3r @ Mar 1 2012,3:45 PM) Nope they are not, the only G1000s in the CTC fleet are the DA42s and the C172s painted in the CTC colour scheme, and also ZK-ZAQ. Rumour has it they are looking for another C172 too.. Although KOL does have an HSI and a moving map GPS, JMY just has conventional avionics and an old Bendix-King GPS which doesnt seem to work. Cheers - Thanks for the reply huff3r /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Feb 5 2012,12:20 PM) Bit of a dusty job , Strangely we don,t see as much in Ag Ops , few years back they were regulars in around the Christchurch port hills , the areas close to CHCH are now life styled blocks with a limited size , cheaper to have the truck spray and considering Canterbury is ideally suited for that cheaper option now . They were using the Ground Dusters on and around the airport Last year:

@ Adam. "As to that lime green (dare not mention the brand) repaint. I have to admit we had to buy that drink on the way home - just to see in close-up how hideous it really is (it *is*). I have a very strong/defined opinion about this senseless, tasteless branding that seems to be becoming universal. I really don't care for the argument that things just wouldn't happen without this form of sponsorship. They did, and have done (for generations) ... but this really isn't the place!" Sad isnt it. I can understand the "logo jet " logic for airlines.....but...

Did a bit of research on the net, and found that on page 5 of the AMS brochure about the security scanners, that it says that for now, that going through these scanners is NOT obligatory. But how come AMS still has scanners (even if they are so called 'safe' millimetre waves). Get rid of them all whilst there are any questions about health/cancer. smooth landings.
