I it because there only equipped for VFR? /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> It was definitely not a 737-300, so are the cargo '37's the 200 model? QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Jan 2 2011, 04:19 PM) I mentioned this to Andrew 'Trolly' ,but he's flying but with you for example , Cameras today and maybe an idea to photo any small strips , circle it a couple off times shooting the heck out off it , obviously a good tight turning bank to get good hi-res directly DOWN shot , pass these on to photo dried designers and with blending into VLC , ooo boy /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif /> Is that an idea that could work , only the small strips even photo paddocks for textures , .. the list gos...

"I am on the team for that so hope to get a good spot for some photos in between ferrying the pilots if that is indeed what I will be doing "- and if that gets boring or having back seat drivers telling ya what to do then you can ferry me in , but then you may have to take the back seat again /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> , Cheers Ants , hey have great holiday /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif />

QUOTE (Syncop8r @ Dec 30 2010, 11:52 PM) A few students at the Aviation Academy will have footage, we had a really good view. We watched it go around after some interesting crabbing on 02 and when it landed on 29 it looked like it was trying to stop before it passed 02/20. I might have some poor quality footage on my phone... Would have made your day , hope post the footage , obviously they had a tug ready and waiting , was it tugged all the way back to the gate or get under its own steam .

Na not teasing but thought the Strikemaster is worth mentioning as it will be great to see one flying in NZ skies and I am really looking forward to photographing it. Will fly with it and maybe a flight in it one day.

QUOTE (ruakituri @ Dec 14 2010, 08:32 AM) Hi, we do in fact use tugs on the ATR here in Christchurch. It is not for the purpose of starting or pushback. Rather the engineers use them to tow the aircraft down to the hangers at the end of the day for overnight checks. What you are looking at in these pictures, is a tug/golfcart attached to our GPU which we use for starting..... this is a typical set up for all our turnarounds in New Zealand. We use the GPU to start HOTEL ( number two engine with prop brake engaged ) Then we disconnect GPU, powering all the systems independantly. This...

QUOTE (Splitpin @ Nov 7 2010, 10:33 PM) Husker, do you know if there has or is an "effect" in f/s to simulate that heat haze from an engine? Hmm, I've seen certain models in FS that show the jet blast from the rear of the engine, not really heat haze though, I guess. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

I thought it was also due for a major cert check, and it wasn't really worth it. They did have it up for sale if I remember correctly. The 747 breakdown netted the crew $1m usd
