QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Mar 26 2010, 01:42 AM) They beauty of a 747 , not a tube liner is it ... the 380 , a bull nosed um ? blob liner Yes it is a wee bit ugly. QUOTE (Splitpin @ Mar 25 2010, 11:17 PM) I have always wanted to take one of those aircraft passing the moon shots.......i still have'nt ....but this was close. I was out at NZCH this evening to pick the boss up, and while waiting i saw this Qantas 74 rolling.....managed to get a couple of shots, but the moon one was a fluke. Ran it thru photoshop to tidy it up , but other than that, its raw. We never see 74's...

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Mar 9 2010, 06:53 PM) Happy ! Gorgeous Pics , impressive how clean the engine bay /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif /> Agree - looks sort of empty too between the engine and the cockpit...I'm used to looking at pics of topless Spitfires, where you see the fuel tanks in there - makes it look very cramped by comparison with the P51

QUOTE (deaneb @ Mar 8 2010, 10:09 PM) The staggered wing on the Stumpmaster was to offset the effects of the shock cone as it transited through mach1, ensuring that one wing was always clear of the shock wave as it progressed over the forward and then aft wing !! The test pilot however reported that it did take an awfully long time to open the canopy after landing, the ground crew had to remove the fin. Typical British desigh huh - after all you did have to dissassemble half the plane to get the engine out !! Ok - so just the last bit is actually true!!...
