You are right about that distance, is was 27 years ago & my memory isn't the greatest. I had to have a look on the map. Tuuta airport 19.5k from Waitangi. It was Kiangaroa that was 40k from Waitangi. I remember driving it in an old Landrover & getting 2 punctures on the way.

QUOTE (deeknow @ Jan 15 2010, 01:26 AM) Fantastic shots Gavin, do you have radio contact with those guys to setup shots or do you just get a bit of a loose plan together before you take off? I have to say, though I should be loyal to the Empire and fancy a British aircraft I cant help thinking its the Albatros I'd see meself in as a wannabe WWI fighter pilot /smiliz2.png style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :@ border= 0 alt= smiliz2.png /> The WW1 aircraft have no radios so the flights are done using hand signals and a good safe brief before hand as flying the plan is very...

QUOTE wonder what the view of whales is like out those rear windows, anyone been up in one? Got to "fly" right seat in one five (or so) years ago, so cannot say what the rear window view is like. We were doing a preliminary photoshoot of NZKI and scored a free flight as there weren't enough paying passengers to fill the scheduled flight. (Even got to see a pod of whales.)
