You need permission to do anything on your vista comp even if you are the administrator Go Control Panel, User Accounts, User Account Control, then turn it off. It turns off all that permission junk ;) loads of incompatible software Putting the programmes in compatibility mode for XP fixed this for me :) The Vista crashes whenever you add new software Never happened to me. Have you updated it? Theres been several updates to Vista since release

it would be interesting to see some processor benchmarks for FSX. faster clock speed I imagine is best, rather than number of cores. I agree with Zoltuger here........I have a duo core system......and dosn't work as welll as you may think....FSX doesn't seem to work effectively across the two cores. With this in mind I have one core set to run FSX and the other to take care of any background running of the computer. I think clock speed is the most important thing here, not number of cores. having said that, i will qualify it by saying that the dual core processors have a large amount...

Do you leave your computer and/or firefox running all the time? or do you shut down? If you leave it running, try restarting and also emptying the browser cache. I have read lots lately about people having issues with ZoneAlarm... I used to use it, but then it just became a P.I.T.A!

*sigh* natas, the guy is asking for help, try to show him a little courtesy. in any event, 430W should be sufficient for his needs. you only really need to push 500W if you have multiple hard disks and multiple graphics cards and powerful dual cores anyhow, problem is solved.

OS 32bit? wouldn't we expect 64 or is that something else I would expect for that much $ ? :o yeah maybe, it's only $20 or so more expensive besides, you really need some 64bit software to take advantage of a 64bit OS

I fixed it by changing these lines in my fs9.cfg: TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.000000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.900000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 (I had changed them before, but they got 'un changed' some how) I also made sure Extended Terrain Textures was turned 'on' and that the 'land detail' slider was put all the way up to the right :D

James go to your device manager and disable that network connection if you are not using it.It is using resources, also if you go to your bios you can disable the LAN from there but only if you are not using the network.you will also find that with it disabled your computer will boot up slightly quicker

remember, the power cable faces with the clip side down, and the IDE cable always has the red wire facing towards the power cable. If I were you, I would try putting your floppy drives into your parents computer (with their wire) to see if they are at fault. Perhaps it could be a faulty data cable?
