I think that you can tweak your display for slow, getting good sharp textures in your immediate vicinity most of the time, or you can tweak for fast, getting ok textures all around. This is really two opposite goals, so you need to compromise somehow. There are plenty of photoreal tweaks around which don't do anything for me -- they are designed to keep the textures displaying as you fly fast and high -- but there are others which give me the result I want -- real sharp textures, provided I don't go over 140kts.

Whoops- I made a mistake. The 'TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=' line should not be changed. Instead, you should add the 'TextureMaxLoad=' line underneath the 'TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT' like so: TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=100 TextureMaxLoad=10 Sorry everyone

where abouts in the boot does it go mental? thats the problem... it's not in any particular place. Sometimes it makes POST and will even start loading XP (ie. Windows XP logo screen with the progess bar), then the BSOD flashes up for a split second and the machine reboots at which point it just seems to hang (ie. no video bios message, no bios screen etc) other times it wont even make it past the bios screen to POST. I was even in the BIOS settings a couple of times and it did it then too. Which is why i dont think its RAM related, as I'm fairly sure the BIOS operates without using...

Hi Charl I had a thought re my Wanaka AI issues. What would make the Pioneer DC3 fly the flightplans for the other "heavies' out of Wanaka. Could be a link between the others not showing and the DC3 flying their plans ?????

Hi Guys, I do most of my virtual GA flying around queenstown & the southern lakes, since I work & live around there. I'm sure christian will chime in at some stage but this was a known issue with the lake levels as defined by MS that was easily fixed using the old fs2002 lakes fix. Garbage data used by MS where as I believe Christian resampled the raw information fro scratch as supplied by NZ Lands & Surveys department. The mesh data is of a better accuracy than the MS lake levels, which were not able to be fixed as a part of any mesh package. I agree though - you can't...

Same thing in my Sim at Wanaka. The only 'heavy" that flies is the Pionair DC3. The others heavies are a no show. All good for the fighters though. Got so frustrated with it, that i gave up trying to sort it, and just settled for the fighters. Lawrie.

Wayne The only traffic file I can recall for Wanaka would be "Traffic_Wanaka_Addon.bgl" If you have other Wanaka traffic files they may conflict and I can't help you. Also I remember the readme was wrong about the AFCAD file, cut and paste it to: "...\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery" and check that it's the only one. If you already have an AFCAD file for NZWF, you should rename it to something like AF2_NZWF.old before copying over the new one. Finally, you should download and install the MS FS Traffic Toolbox at AI traffic often does not...

Phoned NFC today, they told me that after 4 days worth of trying to increase performance, they can't do anything. They even tried the card in other systems but had the same problem. Guess I was sold a dud card :(
