QUOTE (Charl @ Dec 24 2013,8:14 AM) Of course there are those like me, who believe that FSX cannot in any circumstances be run flat out with all the addons you want, no matter how big, fast or tweaked the computer! Luckily FSX is now dead and obsolete (like FS9 I suppose) so there's no point continuing that discussion. You didn't answer the second question which follows from that: I wonder what a P3D-specced Ultimate Computer looks like? Perhaps only time will tell. Oh, and you didn't answer the first question either: what would your computer cost in Rotterdam? I have...

Yes, you can certainly install scenery anywhere you wish, the Scenery.cfg can point anywhere. The tricky bit is actually getting an installer to put it in the right place. Generally it is simpler (i.e. less likely to cause issues) if scenery is installed relative to FSX -- that is, the folder placed inside the FSX folder, or in a subfolder of the FSX folder. So it does make more sense to do things this way, as it stops any issues with updates, uninstalls etc. Installing something into FSX then shifting it somewhere else is the kind of thing which can make updates difficult. The least...

QUOTE (bobmcc @ Nov 16 2013,9:24 PM) Doug, Yes, that is the same number on mine, and it is a Barracuda 7200.9 with a firmware level of 3.BQK and a date code of 07281 (in very small print). If these numbers are the same or similar there is a good chance that the PCB will work, so if you PM an address to me I will send the whole thing to you. I will test the drive and format it, so at least you will be able to check that it all works before swapping the PCB. Bob. The firmware is slightly different 3.AAD and the date code is 06292 be interesting to see if it will work with your PCB

Had to play around with the set-up to use the saitek multi panel with Aerosofts Airbus X which ended up having to assign a default FSX key command to the controller using SPAD. Between Default FSX, FSUIP and SPAD all have some inputs it gets a little confusing (and really messy). It seems every time I get an Aerosoft aircraft I have issues, it was the same with Huey, Katanna, D-27, the only ones I have not had problems with is the Wiga (perhaps because it's so basic /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> ) and the original Twotter - and the new...

QUOTE (ZK-LGD @ Oct 25 2013,10:35 AM) Actually, there's a lot more to it than Doug has posted. You would be mightly surprised at what Orbx fills up your FSX with. If you really want to uninstall FTX from your system, follow Doug's uninstall guide here . I would also add that it is best to set everything back to default (Aero, Day/Night Lights back to Night) before beginning the uninstall. Next, run separate searchs in your root FSX folder for: "Orbx", "FTX", "Avalon", "fx_HS_FSX_*" and "coff" (and/or "cof")...

Well, while I was asleep, I got to thinking that maybe Irfan View was the source of the nuisance. I updated mine, and as I was looking through the screenie folder, I noticed that it was it was bringing up days 1 12 and 14 before days 2 and 27, and day 7 after that. So I was reduced to reading the help file, and found this: "The sort option by Name differs from by Name (natural) by a different interpretation of numbers in file names. With by Name File10.jpg is sorted before File1.jpg. With Name (natural) the sort order is File1.jpg before File10.jpg." So, all fixed now. Of course, if...

All sorted. I only just saw the post and have some input. Whenever you see any visuals like in those three screenshots, it is the FSX settings. I have seen almost every single variation when installing ORBX scenery and running it for the first time. Screenshots 1 & 2 are texture filtering issues Screenshot 3 is a scenery layering issue It is bloody hard work getting your FSX rig stable, but the best advice I got recently was tops and my system has never run so good and the visuals so crisp. It suggested, applying the FSX.cfg High MEM, WideScreen and bufferpools fixes and then setting up...

Maybe a layering thing? Do any of your other addons change the default taxiway signs textures? From my experience, you want the airport stuff painted on top of anything else previously loaded, so new meshes and landclass need to be nearer the bottom of the screen in the Scenery Library than the stuff you want painted onto that base. So I would put the mesh and landclass below the default Addon Scenery layer, and above Propellor Objects.

No luck with that Alister...thanks for the suggestion anyway. About to start uninstalling which probably isn't a bad thing anyway. Gives me a chance to clean my computer up while I'm at it.
