Here's the preferred order: mesh and landclass type files at the bottom, sceneries higher up

QUOTE (SeanG @ Apr 27 2011,12:45 AM) For a really cheap solution, if you are looking for only a few switches: Buy a cheap genius gamepad, gut it, and useit as an interface. That's what drives the Radar control panel in my Skyhawk /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> If you want more; go the Leo Bodnar route, he makes a range of really cool boards, which are cheap to buy, and packed with connectivity! (and I use them in the Skyhawk as well.. so can vouch for them!) SeanG Thanks SeanG, The Leo Bodnar route looks like the real thing...

G'day tdale, I have used the venetobu cfg on four systems, and find it a good start for getting a smooth performance from FSX. Currently it is on an i7 4.2 OC with a GTX590 running three 27" lcd's, and an i7 at 3.4 OC with two GTX570's running three 22" lcd's, and both systems perform well. If you decide to give it a go and are not happy (may see artifacts perhaps) - don't despair, it is easily adjustable to suit specific builds.

QUOTE (deaneb @ Apr 16 2011,10:13 PM) Flying - what is that? Lol - welcome to the wonderful world of design - where half your time is spent compiling and waiting for FS to load up, so you can spend a moment to check something before making a tweak and repeating the process!! If this was Facebook I'd "like" this comment in agreement haha

Overclocking (in basic terms) is when you adjust the voltages and multiplier in the BIOS to improve the speed from say a 2ghz CPU to a 2.9ghz CPU. This has many advantages and disadvantages the main one, being the risk of blowing your CPU. I would not recommend overclocking your processor unless you are sure of what you are doing and have an aftermarket CPU cooler as your temps will shoot through the roof. However O/cing can significantly improve your performance alot in FSX. If you are interested in learning to O/c, try this site for help : However if you want better performance with alot...

I'm running IE9, Sea Monkey, Palemoon, Firefox and Chrome....I have trouble choosing which one to keep. I managed to get my system to run Ok without the annoying message by using MSCONFIG. 1. Go to SERVICES tab and check Hide all Microsoft services check box. 2. Disable half the list and then reboot and check for error. If there is no error anymore the problem is in the first half of the list. If the error persists then renable the first half and disable the second half and reboot. Check for error. 3. Once you have determined which half of the list the error is in you can half that list...

I'd say its more likely the way the Nvidia driver is configured by default that isnt helping you. There are a bunch of settings to look at in the NVidia control panel, dont give up on it, look on the web too lots of tips-n-tricks there re how to manage that control panel, esp things like anti-aliasing and game-profiles etc

Weird, do the gauges behave the same way in the VC and 2D views? As raddragon says I'd check to make sure you have the latest service pack too (hasnt been one for some time tho)

Thankyou for that Robin. Uncheck hide file extensions and the .air is added to the file name. It shows up now. The file type says Installer Package, hence the confusion with the hide extensions ticked. Cheers, Daryl

+1 for DXTBMP. I use Photoshop myself - flatten the layers and save as a 32bit .BMP and then use DXTBMP to convert it into the FS extended formats (DDS etc)
