End off the day it comes down to what most are comfortable with ... we all had had AVG, Avast ,Norton's , and the list go on , sorta a mute convo in respect if you have just recent put a payware AV promoted only to be told its useless , its simple .. if you have a AV GOOD ! it really depends on your PC , if that gets compromised like many do ... go check the vendor !

I've heard similar cases where AVG has slowed peoples systems right down.. I just use NOD 32, have had it since I first got a desktop and have it on my new computer now, it's pay ware however I have never had a single virus, and it's so dam easy and simple to use and doesn't use bugger all computer resources. I would recommend this to anyone and believe it's one of the best out there!

I used to sell the FlightLink stuff from the US. It's expensive, and seems to break with moderate wear. It looks the part (cyclic, collective, pedals), but the only thing that seems not to break easily is the collective (least moving parts I guess). The hydraulic pedals were a nice touch, but they seem to leak fairly easily. It could be that the 1 set I did sell in NZ went to a guy who's rough on his gear - but the fact that he was so quickly and easily able to "break" both the pedals and the cyclic did not bode well... I think the pedals last 6 months before leaking, and...

QUOTE (saski17 @ Jul 13 2010, 05:46 PM) I wouldn't buy a computer with nVidia graphics card 'cus with my old desktop the graphics card just died after a year or so, now i have my new ATI graphics card its been going fine and its been a year since i got it. With the i7 going up to 3.2 ghz well it is quad core so there will prob be 3.2ghz in each proscessor and good thing is you could probably let FSX have its own procsesser to eat. would have to say that was just bad luck... i have the same experiences with both brands at the moment i wouldn't say either are outstandingly...

Theres always a catch aye. The 470 is what i'd go with to if I got an i5 or i7, nearly half the price of a 480.

I had something like this happen last year. Gave up in disgust and left it unplugged, with no battery. A couple of days later I plugged it in again to see what would happen and everything worked just fine. Why? No idea? I had already tried everything that you did so maybe you could try the same - unplug the battery and the power supply and wait some undetermined long time and then try the restart - you might be lucky like me.

Yes it will. However, if you use analog monitors you are unable to use Power Desk to adjust them. (I'm 99.99% sure of this, /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> check their site in case they have a new software V out) Which is no big deal if you don't mind having half a gauge on one screen and the other half on another. When using Bezel Managment it will slide behind the bezel and pop out the other side. I used it with analog monitors for several years and it's fine. Although I think Bezel Managment adds to the realisim.

Is your i5 a dual or quad core? I have upgraded to a second hand quad core extreme QX9650 with a new 216 core GTX 260. Improvements were modest until I ran the Jesus bufferpool tweak and although i only get mid 20's to low 20's over citys, the insane amount of autogen and sharp textures makes me drool. If i could only clock it to the 4ghz it is supposed to achieve easily i would be away laughing but the asus striker 2 extreme mobo is well known to be a real ba#**rd to overclock which I did'nt know at the time, Its 1 redeaming feature though is it uses DDR3 ram up to 1800mhz which...

QUOTE (Venge @ Jul 4 2010, 06:32 AM) I gave this a go but it seemed to reduce my stability a bit. That and it ruined a freeware addon plane I like to use. anyone else give this setting a go? I am using it about 90% of the time I have ADDON CONVERTER X and it converts about 90 to 95% of AI and earlier FS2002 FS2004 aircraft to work in the FSX DX10. FLIGHTSIM TOOLS - ADDON CONVERTER X cost EUR 15.00 was about NZ$29.00 when I bought mine. It is available from for US$19.95 Doug

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Jun 29 2010, 04:40 PM) The airport may work fine in FSX ... The visual effects are great? couple off small errors .. must tell us more about those /rolleyes.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= rolleyes.gif /> OK .. your prob : but I seem to have lost my ILS for both runways 20/02? I'd call them a primary , you may want to search all the large sites for AFCADs or if you have the file you want to put it into the SCENERY / WORLD - Scenery folder . Thanks Ian, I will have a look and get back to you. Regards Bryn
