QUOTE (HercFeend @ Mar 2 2010, 02:08 PM) Why would ANYONE want one of these licences.......... A restricted PPL? That's what I did... Mainly because they changed the rules and my exam passes had changed from being valid forever (except Law at 5 years), to only being valid for 2 years from 11 May 2006. It was Jan/Feb 2008 and rather than run the risk of encountering bad weather, on the advice of my CFI, I opted to sit the PPL flight test and worry about the cross country and night flying later. It didn't cost any more, it was simply a matter of doing the required cross...

Last year's airshow here in Rotorua (to celebrate the Sydney flights) was cancelled due inclement weather. The weather fined up a bit by later on, so it was a pity - but the call had to be made I guess. Anyway, it does look like a good line up they have planned, and it is nice that it's free. Which makes a nice change from the likes of Tauranga and Wanaka (although the displays aren't as good as TRG and nowhere near WKA levels). It's a shame that it will be held at the Lakefront - a long distance from the airport and from the DC3 flights. There ought to be a few of us there -...

We got a Huey to drop off the game ball in a Super 14 match in Wgtn, it was Anzac day. Very cool, although after they put the ball on the ground and the chopper took off, the rugby ball when flying along the ground from the down wash /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif />

If you want I could draw a diagram /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> You go through customs. From memory, it's a duty free store. There's a cafe (well a bench where they serve cake slices and coffee - tbh I wouldn't buy, I'd be too excited that I'm travelling to Aus!. There is also a small whitcouls, a male and female toilet and then the rest is seating. There are also doors to gates 28, 27 and 26 in the main are and a window looking at gate 27 and also the Mirimar Golf Course. /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle...

Standard procedure on a first of type flight when systems proving is still top of the agenda. If it goes up and doesn't come down you have a major setback to your test program. They'll climb up and cycle the gear a few times to check the system functionality, take off is too busy to concentrate on the details of each system check.

QUOTE Over the last few months we have completed a DC-3 ground course and type rated and trained several new pilots to fly the DC-3. Likewise we have continued to train and clear for line flying several new flight attendants. We are busy with regular city scenic flights and have completed several corporate charter flights. Our 0800 DC3 FLY campaign has been hugely successful with our signs being seen in some high profile and interesting places! We continue to focus on our goal to keep the Southern DC3 as an operational example of our New Zealand aviation heritage. Many such aircraft are...

Very similar release when the Mig29 was reviewed 25 ta 30 years back , as strange as it seems , the aircraft appear to look the same as the western counterpart , just a pity we cannot see one compared maybe for another couple years.

Yes, I'll be there with bells on.... I have kept a "low profile" on this as we had a long-standing, weekend long, babysitting duty at Taupo for my son - however, fortunately this has been postponed which frees me up. Looking forward to it and anything I can do to help. /clapping.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= clapping.gif />
