The Marlborough Aero Club guys are heading up Saturday afternoon. I was going to come up but have another couple of flights to do tomorrow that involve some pretty neat flying. Might post a picture or two all going well. First flight is at 8.00am so its going to be cold but never mind and you guys at the brass monkey will be in for a cold night tomorrow so dont forget to go for a dunk in the lake, character building, I can testify to that.

QUOTE (Naki @ Sep 4 2009, 03:51 PM) Makes you think there must be something wrong with King Air/1900 undercarriage? MMMM not sure that 3 incidents out of the thousands of Kingairs flying would suggest there is a problem at all - it all comes down to reasons - often they are maintenance related. I was standing not far from the guy filming the Woodbourne incident - the second wheels up I've witnessed first hand, the other was a Banderainte at Palmy North in 1988. Interestingly there seems to be two different techniques with engines - The 1900 has composite props, so the engines are...

yepp, have flown with them once... nice, not like FR, but this entity was never profitable. There are few airlines in Europe that are really suffering, and my guess(from what i know) is KD avia takover by mistical russian super government carrier Rosavia, and i hope Aerosvit(nothing personal to stuff, but management is sh*t, aircraft cabins real cr@p, there is no place for them). Another airlines i think will just be taken over by governments or other airlines

I would definitely be seeking some medical advice on this one. As for the hissing it sounds like whoever set the pressuriation to the aerodrome elevation may have not quite got it right and the cabin dumped early. I'm not sure about the dash but in the Metro we set pressure altitude +200ft so everything relates to 1013 hPa. We have to take into account the airfield elevation and the QNH difference and occasionally you get it wrong which can lead to the cabin dumping at 2000 feet and of course we are generally descending at rates greater than 500 ft/min so that will hurt the ears when it...

The Auckland airport website looks the best. The first flight for a given destination is the actual flight, the following are the code shares. So for example: NZ7 San Francisco 30 Aug 05:15 04:25 Air Canada. AC9518 NZ7 San Francisco 30 Aug 05:15 04:25 LUFTHANSA GERMAN AIRLINES. LH9808 NZ7 San Francisco 30 Aug 05:15 04:25 UNITED AIR LINES INCORPORATED. UA9543 NZ7 San Francisco 30 Aug 05:15 04:25 US AIRWAYS. US5307 NZ7 San Francisco 30 Aug 05:15 04:25 NZ007 is the actual flight. All the other flight numbers are operated by carrier "NZ7" (ie the Air NZ flight above) You can also try...

QUOTE (bennz @ Aug 28 2009, 11:54 AM) Went to the Wellington campus today and it sucked . They are so desperate to get your money ( I had to get out before they make me sign up for some stupid program ) while not providing any interesting concepts beside some catalogs .. Thumbs down Massey!!! Go and learn some tactics from a place like Singapore aviation Academy ... It was waste of time for me to go there today.. Do you know the name of the person you spoke to? Dissapointed that the marketing people are thinking one thing while the actual flight school thinks another.

QUOTE (chopper_nut @ Aug 28 2009, 09:45 PM) Well I would have said that flying into the side of a mountain was the predominant cause of the accident. There is a mountain training for helicopter students, I reckon that with the terrain in this country, there should be something similar for fixed wing pilots seeing that people keep flying into the 'cumulus granitis'. Fixed-wing mountain flying syllabus to be introduced next year. CAA is meeting with ASL and Senior A-Cats to see how it is going to be taught now.

QUOTE (Chairman @ Aug 19 2009, 01:00 PM) Didn't look like it would be the most comfortable way to spend 17 hours. Although no problems with legroom /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> How noisy are they ? Sounded pretty bad but that was with the ramp open. Gary ha. they're noisy. i was supposed to be hitching a ride from woodbourne-wellington in a 757 but that was a no show (ended up getting interislander :-/ ) people who were hitching to whenuapai (cadets, not actual service members) got a ride in a herc instead. i was there when...
