QUOTE (WasFlightOps @ Jun 2 2009, 06:13 PM) There's only 3 I'm sure- Law, Nav, and the other one. Yes my bad- just started the IFR theory course today and only have Law, Nav and Nav Aids. Thought there was four lessons due to the duration of the day, 8am till 5pm again, althought it just turns out that the lectures are really, really long! /dry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= <_< border= 0 alt= dry.gif />

QUOTE (d3fai13r @ May 29 2009, 09:20 AM) Its more likely, that EK will change A345->A380 on DXB-MEL-AKL first. But i don't think that this will happen anytime soon That is true, they originally planned to have 2 A380's coming into NZ

Currently on a 'home-made' Access logbook (work in progress) after 4 iterations of various Excel logbooks. Access is very powerful and has a lot of potential (same as Excel), slowly learning how to use it. When I get a Mac I'm keen on Log Ten Pro. A few of the guys at work have it.

QUOTE (Trolly @ May 25 2009, 08:02 PM) I take that back- I was just rewatching a vid I recorded whilst backseating with Jarred (HCP), landing Cherokee -LMA last year and there was no stall warning to be heard- perhaps he's just a very skilled pilot /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> I'll take the credit... /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> But if you look closely at about 1:33 or 1:34... you'll see (just above my left shoulder) the little red "Landing Light" on the dash...

If One World Alliance means as much as Star Alliance, then it is worthless. Have you experienced Star Alliances's 'Seamless connections' yet? Same thing with getting air miles credited between carriers. smooth landings

First New Air Force Helicopter Due Next March Wellington, May 12 NZPA - The first of the air force's new NH90 helicopters is expected to be available from March next year. Defence Minister Wayne Mapp said the first of the eight-strong fleet had its initial test flight in France last week and it was reportedly successful. The medium-utility helicopters, designed for a range of roles in both military and civilian operations, will replace New Zealand's ageing Iroquois fleet. Mr Mapp said one of the roles for the machines would be to support agencies such as police and Customs. New...

Well done Alex. If you get through there are many options both in the force and ex force. You just got to look at Air Nz's top pilots they are mostly ex Air Force. Also Air Nelson and the Air Force have an agreement where we get some Air Force guys training on the q300 with us. There are two guys starting at the moment and they will work as pilots with Air Nelson based in Wellington and under go all the training such as Sim etc as if they were Air Nelson Pilots. I think this is a good way to keep people interested in the forces. Not only that if you want to leave the force you have a q300...

QUOTE (Trolly @ May 3 2009, 05:52 PM) On the subject of novel aircraft at NZAA- as reported on the mrcaviation blog, a Canadian C17 arrived last night, (as well as a US C17 from Hawaii to Wellington just now)- whats the story with use of civilian airports for these guys rather than Whenuapai/Ohakea? I've been trying to get a pic of the USAF one in Wellington but haven't had much luck with my duties yet. Wellington is used over Ohakea, I'm guessing, because they usually come to defence HQ here. I've got pics of USAF BBJs and G-IV/Vs here too. Also a US Coast Guard...

QUOTE (deaneb @ May 3 2009, 09:02 PM) Far too expensive. Plane is next to worthless in reality. So a 3 bedroom weather board house and Cafe building on 1/2 an acre, aint worth $900K. Oh and lets not forget the cafe was closed for ages, makes you wonder why. The Argosy should be shifted over to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre and the Bristol freighter parked along side it.
