Shopping with the girlfriend?! What did you do to deserve that! You should drag her up in a plane - that might turn her around... Nice one - I would love to do some time in PAB. There were lots of plans to get the Seasprite and the Yaks etc there, but even though they didn't make it, there were some great aircraft and really keen people. Parakai is a great airfield and good base for people wanting to get going and go flying - it has a really good feel to it. I think quite a few people use it as a maintenance base too.

yea, i heard of someone who got exemption because he could prove that he could tell the difference between red, green, blue and white lights (all things that im sure i can do because i frequently see aircraft out my bedroom window at night and i can tell whether its the starboard or port facing me). maybe i should try but im worried about the cost. how much would i need to fork out if i were to continue? i already have my heart set on CIS in the air force and i know how many people get turned down to be pilots because when i was on air force experience, purcell (officer selection) was...

QUOTE (Fauville @ Mar 6 2009, 04:28 PM) Appears in this case that the human element was not keeping an eye on much at all, you would think that airspeed, attitude, engine instruments and the physical movement of the throttle to idle stop (I would assume that in landing config throttle position would be quite high) 2000 ft of the deck is a dead giveaway /blink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= blink.gif /> , in this case unfortunatly for the flight crew (and some passengers) 'dead' is the correct word. I couldn't agree more, however, this also...

My homemade job is essentially a copy of the Clarity Aloft... And yeah, the weight and comfort are big plusses... the only real hassle, with mine anyway, is the mess of cables /sad.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :( border= 0 alt= sad.gif /> Plus you really need to take your time putting the earplugs in, as without a perfect fit, they just don't provide the noise attenuation. So they're not quite as simple as throw it on your head and adjust the mic boom... but the comfort factor is A++++

Wow, that looks very awesome. Liking the 360 degree view that DAS does in the inside of the pilot's visor. Alex

QUOTE (d3fai13r @ Feb 19 2009, 10:35 PM) Not really, just few days ago my photo of A380 was top24, second place 48hours on anet, top24/48 on jetphotos. That doesn't really matter where you take photos, depends on your equipment, postedit, weather and the main is Moment! Oh hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the top photos are always like the ones I described. and undeserving of the popularity. I'm just saying there are an awful lot of photos from Europe that are on par with shots I've seen from around here, and end up on the top 5. I look at them and ask...

QUOTE (Squawk1200 @ Feb 20 2009, 02:56 PM) only problem with that is if ya move, (which you need to do to get more drinks in the heat) you lose your spot! RECON ! CHECK! PREPARE ! .. Primary is the liquids ...... dont drink , ya drop ! .... planning requires a WATER BOY , you take turns /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

QUOTE (HercFeend @ Feb 20 2009, 09:32 AM) Very funny piece in The Press yesterday, nothing earth shattering but typical of lazy journos and incompetent editors. Can we expect to see your correction in the Press' "Putting it right" column?

QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Feb 17 2009, 02:26 PM) errrr High Aspect Ratio wings are the type that gliders use... so I'm guessing you meant something else? /huh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= huh.gif /> The High Aspect wing was actually devolped pre WW2 and was known as the Davis wing , best example off the period or most famous was the B24 Liberator , aircrew preferred the B17 fort because being more stable and able to absorb battle damage were as the 24 required a lot of work from the pilot due to the wing , I guess you could say todays sail plane would...
