By coincidence, I was just reading on the net about somebody who flew around the world in a Mooney. Sometimes it is nice to dream...... The link is:- smooth landings.

I've been on Three recently and three more in four months. My first time I was the seat furthest back thus when I needed to go toilet I only had to go past one person. The plane is quieter but if you're sitting behind the wing it is very loud but only for take-off run as they reduce thrust almost instantly after take-off. Generally it's a really nice aircraft. My favourite for long haul. Plus wide Aisles thus when F/A's handing out food you can walk around (At least in Singapore Airlines - I don't remember British airways casue I only got up once) Anyway I find that they...

QUOTE "People were pretty calm, but there were a few nervous moments there when they started dumping fuel," a passenger told The Dominion Post. Just more proof of how much Joe Passenger knows about planes.

We spent an hour or two there - some pretty interesting machines there and I enjoyed the science experiments /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> I would have liked to have seen some reps from the kit companies there though i.e. Europa and Vans etc, to get some info off of them.

I'll add the Spit when Brendon Deeres flys - I am not that keen on two seat Spits - ruins the lines (although the 2 seat Spit would be in a top ten) . QUOTE (leow5263 @ Feb 9 2009, 06:26 PM) lets think ill start it off witth the: CT4/E AirTrainer Then CT4/E AirTrainer Then CT4/E AirTrainer Then CT4/E AirTrainer Then CT4/E AirTrainer That would be the Red Checkers then I guess ..also nobody has listed the Hurricane.

QUOTE (Gonebush @ Feb 4 2009, 02:41 AM) Thanks, Ian, for highlighting the imminent extinction of Wigram. This is more than a shame; it's callous vandalism of NZ's aviation history. NZ loses important elements of its soul when it paves over history like this. In this country, we're very good at destroying what it is that defines our identity. This impoverishing act of cultural vandalism ranks up there with concreting over pa sites, war graves and other signally iconic reminders of who we are as a people. I hardly need mention ( I hope) the insult this closure conveys to...

It's not too bad seeing as most of the journey is on the motorway and I can generally time it to avoid the traffic, usually takes about 40 minutes.

Actually, I think I may have overstated my piloting skills - even landing the 172 there on FS9 requires pinpoint accuracy that my poor piloting skills clearly lack!

It sucks. You mention discontent about this on forums and there's always people (including me depending on my mood) who pipe up with a discussion of why a particular service is/was not viable etc...

Ya good call. My first ever trans tasman flight was on a Qantas 747 out of Auckland to Brisbane. The morning of the flight, I woke up with blocked ears, nothing unusual, my ears tend to wax up fairly heavily, and i often wake up with blocked ears. Off to the doctors for a syringe out, being a saturday had to see the doc first, normally just goto the nurse. he had a look, ooohed and ahhhed and sent me off for a flush, said come back before i left. Had the flush the and the nurse ahd a look and sent my on my way to the airport. Got on the plane, was keen as, being my first international flight,...

Well, on the plus side, if you have to land in the water you at least know you're in good hands. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> In all seriousness I'm personally intending to avoid traveling through the US as far as is possible at least until they get their cr@p together and stop treating every overseas visitor like a criminal. (Edit - Whoops, didn't think it would censor the C word!)
