QUOTE (HardCorePawn @ Dec 23 2008, 02:25 PM) BNZ you say??? I have my mortgage with them... may need to inquire about some insure for flying... Us too. Well you should be ok then as it's the 'mortgage' life insurance policy I'm covered by. If I remember correctly I stated that I'd be doing approx 75 - 100 hrs max per year, non commercial obviously etc etc

QUOTE It will end up replacing NQC. Most of NQC's work was to secondary airports such as Blenheim and Rotorua, where a BAe 146 is the better aircraft (shorter take off/landing distance etc). NQC may still be a Combi, but what passenger is going to want to fly on a plane with DHL Freight colours emblazoned on the side? 1) The 737-200 will do anything a 146 will but even better 2) NQC is not a combi it's a QC and can not be operated as a combi 3) when you charter an aircraft for 100 people they don't care what colour the aircraft it is so long as it's a jet. 99% can't tell...

QUOTE Most of them say something like 'The average time for a passenger waited to recieve thier bag yesterday at T5 was: 16 minutes'. Not sure if anything is wrong with T4, I flew in and out from T3 when I visited and everything ran smoothly- no baggage checks or bio security once you've picked your luggage of the carousel like in Auckland- you just walk straight out to the arrivals hall and jump on a bus. Haha. In Hanoi they seemed to only put two-three bags on the carousel at any one time. We waited 20 mins easily! (after we had got off the flight and gone through customs.

No Air Shows from 70s unfortunately (I had a programme from an Air Show at NZNP in 1973 but I have misplaced it). There weren't many during this decade anyway (fuel crisis etc) From now on are Airshows I remember Aviation Showcase 1980 - Hamilton Airport -November 8 & 9 1980 Air Force Open Day Ohakea 1981 (exact date - not sure). This is one Air Show that is really burnt in my memory - F-15s, Mirages Canberra, F-4Es etc. First time I have seen up close USAF & RAAF combat aircraft ..and the last time when it comes to USAF combat aircraft

QUOTE (Area51 @ Dec 12 2008, 09:53 PM) Hi Richard There is a surprising number of people reporting activity but namely its just two of us keenly tracking stuff to the lunatic extent at which we do! Drop me a note at area51nz@hotmail.com . The jets at Palmy could well be the odd Macchi out for a run, they still cycle them through on a planned basis to keep the cobwebs at bay! On occasion, yes, though I've been hearing those things long enough to know one when I hear one. Generally, I think the jets I'm hearing are either Airwork's 732, ANZ 733 diverts or charters,...

Ian , I was looking at a similar unit 18 months back , still in its infancy in the Austral/Oceania region , also had a 12 minute lag from real for security , further checking found it very limited .

QUOTE (deaneb @ Dec 10 2008, 09:56 PM) The funny thing is I've never played an instrument, BUT I've always wanted to play the drums. Bizarrely on this forum and I think that at hover control, there is a very high incidence of helo flyers (both real and sim) that also play drums. I guess I'm not too old and I'd love to have a room to sit down and bang out some tunes. I don't think the neighbours would appreciate it in my big garage - its plenty big enough, but its metal construction !! I'd never realised there was a correlation there but I do know a few...
