QUOTE (FlyingKiwi @ Nov 19 2008, 06:52 PM) I *think* that "Army" 152 is a former Bayflight machine. I don't think the US Army ever operated the 152, but they do operate military versions of the 172 as the T-41 Mescalero, for basic training. yeh it was NAN it went down while i was there. nice pics!! old M.A.S.H would sute HOOKS down to a T! first time Ive seen live pic of her. where was the little focke wulf?

I think any landing in that sort of situation is a good landing, I dont think anyone can say how they would react when something like that occurs. He handled it very calmly IMO, I would be screaming/crying/ forgeting im an atheist and start praying /wink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :wink2: border= 0 alt= wink.gif /> Talking about the first one BTW...

Well, certainly in the Duchess on one engine I've seen a 200fpm climb rapidly turn into a 100fpm descent just through turning onto crosswind. Then again I'm not sure the Duchess is known for it's single engine performance. /dry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= <_< border= 0 alt= dry.gif />

I'm always amazed how quiet it is - compared to the old ear-splitting 727s. (although to be honest I prefer the noise - not sure my audiologist would agree though!)

Yeah, the distance between SYD T1 (International) and SYD T2/3 (Domestic) is quite significant, you have to bus. Also, there is a small bus that travels between two parts of T1 from memory (long time ago, not sure if its still there) You dont have to use it, you can walk, but I remember they had it incase you were late for your flight or something, it took some time to walk.

No, Singapore does not fly the A380 to AKL, and has no intentions to.

QUOTE (flightnse @ Oct 24 2008, 11:15 PM) I am thinking of going to the oshkosh air show in 2009 but I want to know If It Is any good befor I go and book my seats on Air New Zealand. there was a good doco on oshkosh on one of the cable channels the other day and knowing their habit of re-screening it again later I am hoping to see it again and tape it, it covered a couple of mustang pilots one which died in a fatal crash at the event, it look like one of the events you should attend during your lifespan.

I saw that last night as well. Was on National Geographic and it focused on building Heathrows Terminal 5. The looked back at Croydon (old London Aerdrome) and how advancements have been made. It will probably be on again some time on National Geographic.
