QUOTE (Squawk1200 @ Sep 12 2008, 03:23 PM) The deal is, as far as i understand it, that some RNZAF pilots coming straight off their flying courses (off the kingys) will line train for Air Nelson to cover staff shortages there (not sure if it will be on an "as required" basis, or more permanent) , and also (presumably) because there are too many pilots already standing in line to fly the orions/hercs/757s etc. /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif /> Just had my interview to progress on to PERSEL next year... the recruiter...

I live in cockle bay (near howick) and our house is right under the main drag from AR around the beaches to Auckland city so had a good view of everything going past. saw formations of Harvards , yaks, Tiger moths and it looked like both spits and the mustang and the P40, also the catalina and dakota were out there as well and a formation of cessnas from one of the aeroclubs. it was a great day weather wise as well. was out walking the dog at the time so unfortunately didn't have the camera ready. oh well it still looked and sounded great!

QUOTE (theflyingtaff @ Sep 21 2008, 09:13 PM) Does Air NZ allow jumpseat passengers on flights to/from Aussie or Raro? It would be a dream come true to watch a big plane land from the cockpit. I am pretty sure that you can't to Aussi because of CASA rules. You can try on the rarotonga flight but I think the requirements for this are the crew knowing who you are. You should have a letter of approval as well which makes it easier to get in.

QUOTE (Nunner @ Sep 20 2008, 04:28 PM) "if anything, they create a perspective that you don't see in real life, since they show nothing of the fence. If they put gaps in the fence for photographers, that would annoy me since everyone's shots would end up looking exactly the same" Yardy yardy yardy means yes yes yes I've heard all that before and Ooops zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz means because i've heard those arguments before means I am going to sleep now !? Also the "if anything, they create a perspective that you don't see in real life"...

B@$tards! The worst part about a theft like this, is the material on the laptop is of no use to anyone else... as such its quite likely that it would be ditched pretty quickly /sad.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :( border= 0 alt= sad.gif /> I remember having a CD wallet flogged from my car a year or two back, containing about $5-6000 worth of import only music - most of which was foreign language anyway. The only reason I had them with me was to take them to a friend to get them backed up so i could keep the originals under lock and key... Found the wallet in a park...

QUOTE (victor_alpha_charlie @ Sep 16 2008, 04:48 PM) I reckon they look good, but that's after seeing an AA 767 with them. That was a photo, not a CG diagram like this article. Good point Tom. I was just gonna say that if you look at that photo then cover up the winglets, it still doesn't look like a 767. It looks out of proportion like a 777 to me, except the fuselage has a definite curve to it. The nose is pointing much more toward the top of the screen than the tail is. Richard QUOTE (benwynn @ Sep 16 2008, 08:24 PM) Yeah, I agree with alex. The 767s are being...
