I saw it in the advance publicity for Avalon, but I realised I wouldn't be able to get there, and never thought to mention it. Mebbe in 2021. Focus is on Omaka at the moment, and straight after getting back I will have to head 1300km south to the daughter's place, with a couple of compulsory side- visits en route. Birthday time for me. ATB Mike

What is TCB DC-8 plane? Hi Aharon Airside TV appear to have used for their YouTube Podcast a screenshot of a DC-8 Cargo Plane in the livery for Brazilian Airline Transportes Chartres Do Brasil TCB, In the real world it was flown out from Sao Paulo Brazil many years ago on the Brazilian Cargo domestic routes. It has the Brazilian registration PP-TPC This real world DC-8 Plane is of national significance to New Zealander's as it's ex Air New Zealand original Teal DC-8 ZK-NZC that was delivered to New Zealand in 1965 and entered service on the Trans-Tasman routes. It's the same DC-8 Plane that...

Great news. I'm sure you will enjoy the lifestyle on the 777. However make sure you enjoy your remaining time on the ATR. It is the best flying (and most rewarding) flying you will do in your airline career. I certainly enjoyed my time on the F27 (Hands on flying and the ground staff at the provincial airports were really great). Flying a heavy jet is all about management. Look forward to catching up. I'll shout you a beer or 2.

Taupo isn't controlled at all, and I think the issues there stem more from itinerant pilots not reading the AIP and getting in the way of the parachuting operations.

That sound is probably the landing lights extending. They make quite an unusual whiring noise.

I read recently in New Zealand Aviation news that there been having a few issues with the Kc-390. What about a Ac130 :P And suddenly the Embraer KC-390 looms larger in the picture! I had forgotten the tie-up: This is because Boeing already has a joint venture with Embraer on its KC-390 cargo/tanker in which Boeing markets the plane in return for service revenues for the fleet." Actually it is very well suited to the task. This would be a happy coincidence if purchased...

Monday Morning weather kept the balloons on the ground. Also serve turbulence in the area over the lower north Island. Now the event travels to Alexandra.
