QUOTE (SUBS17 @ Dec 16 2007, 07:57 PM) In that case they could have been on their way to Iraq to hit Saddams reactor the strike package would've had F-15 escorts, F4 SAM suppression and F-16s for the strike. Could have been - we were in the right area: NW Saudi. The area was actually attacked by Iraq in the gulf war.

Thats unlikely as it is more likely going to be AI controlled based on what is available at the moment. Some UAVs carry missiles now days but only for A/G work. QUOTE (CathyH @ Dec 17 2007, 02:46 AM) If we want jets, we would need a change of government in NZ, I think! Yeah and also it depends on the global political climate even a Labour government could bring new combat jets in if the country were under threat of attack or invasion.(a possibility in the near future ;) ) As it is now I think National will most likely be the next government due to the high tax NZers pay and other...

Yeah it was crappy... but exactly what I needed for my low flying exercise!! Unfortunately, I had to head home around 12... so I'm not 100% sure what, if anything, actually happened...

ZK-OJO just pulled in to gate 5, how long before that gets repainted? Is it already running domestic flights only? Also there looks like theres an American biz jet at gate 6.

Nah I don't post on Prune much, I'd end up lookin like an idiot like him probably, cos I don't really know enough about flying to comment. People can be hilariously mean on PPrune though, I just don't wanna be on the recieving end, so I keep my mouth shut. That said, a lot of the people on Pprune DO have more experience in the industry than people on NZFF, so their comments CAN BE more creditable, cos at the end of the day they are pilots, LAMEs etc and a lot of NZFFers aren't. Thats why I don't really make comments about crashes etc on NZFF when other people dive...

yes and I could name the pilot involved He was on my wings course - the stub of the aerial is now mounted and is a trophy named after him. he is a captain flying airbuses for a non NZ airline but lives and operates out of AA and a hell of a nice guy as well as a hell of a good pilot. :)

QUOTE (Charl @ Dec 3 2007, 06:52 AM) The fighter jocks wear G-suits which constrict blood vessels in most of the extremities. That way blood doesn't flow out of the brain as easily. They also tense up (you would've heard the instruction to cross legs in the video) and grunt at high "g". Most can withstand sustained 9g loads. (I would go out at 5 or so.) F-16 drivers can pull higher "g" than most because their couch reclines, and the blood doesn't go rushing off to the feet as much. Didn't you love the way he went out like a light, then came back...
