Just about any kind of sunglasses will be fine but its the old "take em up and try em out" principle at work. Also, avoid glasses that have colour tint. I flew one cross country flight with orange tinted glasses and was wondering why my map didnt have roads on it (the orange tint cancelled out the brown of the roads on the map) :) Finally, as everyone knows, real aviators wear military helmets! :) Seriously, consider getting your own headset as this could affect the types of sunglasses you can wear comfortably. Yip, I find mainly the Flight instructors forum and the Private flying forums useful. Often when you're looking for info it's best to use the topic search.

My experiance with Air New Zealand International has been positive and Negative. Few months ago we flew to London via Los Angeles in Economy Class the flight was not the best from Auckland to LAX and as for the gestapo in the paranoid USA well dont go there. I dont take much notice of inflight entertainment as I have discovered a row that has a advantage to it ;) namely get either B or J you get a window seat with no seat at the window B) . Now this was my problem because even though I pre booked that seat some mouthy American was given it. The result was I was stuck in front of a screen with...

SLR means Single Lens Reflex....the same lense is used for focusing and capturing the image so whatever you see through the viewfinder is what the storage medium sees (whether its film or a CCD in a digital camera) I want a digital SLR....so cool for taking photos. As an aside, if you told me that first shot was a screen shot i would have believed you.....its scary how that line is blurred sometimes.
