They had an article on TV3 Campbell show few months back and speaking the guys at Wigram about flying the thing it almost dose that on its own, once of the ground by a couple of feet - push a button and dose the rest on its own.

It maybe due to traffic at the gates, I was out at Christchurch a whiles back, they had two Dash8s and an ATR sitting on runway 11 running for maybe 10 minutes, gates were chocker ,guess simply late departures?

Re the Vampire, it may have been local man John Luff's Venom which is based at Ohakea. He also has a lovely Glasair at Wanganui. Rest in peace, Dick - never met him but knew the name.

Didn't it kind of make sense since they already (leased?) A320's? Do many carriers have 320s and 737s?

They did a similar race with Britten - a Pitts and a MD500 up and down the Wanaka track ... I mean runway .. very sure the New Zealand home built motorbike bet them both.

And if you have a gear problem you could ask the little old lady in 24K if she saw the panel move up and back down. Sounds like a brilliant little bit of information for an annual refresher course.
