QUOTE (HamiltonWest @ Jan 4 2014,11:22 AM) Test Pilot - Martin Aircraft We seek an experienced pilot who has a flying instructor qualification and experience in the aircraft test flight environment. Previous display flying experience is desirable and familiarity with international operations an advantage. I might get the job as a crash test dummy ? /unsure.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= unsure.gif /> .... im expert in that ! /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> ..

QUOTE I do hope someone doesn't ever switch off the GPS satellites Don't laugh, there are 5 satellites that are currently at "critical" status i.e. they are 1 failure away from dying and 1 replacement satellite was recently lost in an unsuccessful launch. If they need to move a satellite to cover a failure in all likely hood they will pinch one from a quiet part of the world like the South West Pacific. There are already big RAIM holes over South Australia.

QUOTE (nzav8tor @ Dec 22 2013,3:39 AM) Joe Blogs turns up in his homebuilt something or other and barnstorms his way through the display without the necessary experience or training. Sure he gets away with it, most of the time, but is this really the most prudent approach? Nothing to do with OSH and politics, it's common sense. Your quite right , even the pro's get caught out Wanaka is an example , our Sir Tim Wallis , the passed famed names Mark Hanna , Tom Middleton , .... so i guess its best to shut Joe Blogs Down before he go's Up , sound like your father is a wise...

QUOTE (Charl @ Nov 25 2013,2:17 PM) (Thankfully, our 787's are Trent 1000 powered.) The GEnx engine has an icing problem, and JAL has grounded its 787 longhaulers: "Boeing on Friday issued a notice prohibiting the affected aircraft from flying at high attitude within 50 nautical miles of thunderstorms that may contain ice crystals." Interesting link Mr chrome cannon , those impressive beasts .
