In the near Future they will have bigger Space Shuttles which can fly VTOL instead of using Rocket engines which is the better way to go. There are new Powerplants being developed which do not require fuel and would suit a Space Ship like the Space shuttle. :plane:

Mighty... like the B-52, one of a kind, and just as old. Check out the kite decoys in the clip, to scare off the birds!

QUICK QUESTION If all 4 pilots are together sometimes when swapping rest cycles.....Who is flying the aircraft.?? Is it? is it? OTTO?? Generally speaking OTTO is engaged from anywhere on the climb (not less than 200ft)' until under 2000ft or so on final approach. There is a lot of variables and but those figures would cover 90% of flights. During a rest changeover the crew member that is Pilot Flying (PF) will give a handover briefing to the incoming crew. The PF will put on the full harness and the Pilot Monitoring (PM) will formally handover communications to the PF before getting out of...

No, the one I flew was a 747-400. Mind you, I just checked and they have all been retired! Their B787-9 would work on that 11,000km route.

There is new technology for the C130 which includes FLY BY WIRE, HIGHLY ACCURATE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, AUTOMATIC PITCH CONTROL, POWER CRUISE, AUTO-LAND, AUTO INFLIGHT REFUELLING and a lot of other cool stuff which will make the C130 much more economical, safe and efficient to operate. The C17 is also getting similar upgrades. AUTOMATIC PITCH CONTROL controls the Pitch of the propellers automatically making it more efficient and simpler to operate. The MV22 has this and it improves the performance considerably. If it has AUTOMATIC PITCH CONTROL then the throttles can be just two throttles to...

Aharon, your interest in New Zealand aviation is amazing. Thanks I like to study history of commerical aviation and that includes New Zealand aviation. Speaking of history of commercial aviation, here is nice set of charts for this airport from 35 years ago showing how light signals operated for presence of trains Regards, Aharon

You'd think the corporate culture at Boeing would've changed, after the MAX debacle. What's next, propeller retrofits to keep tooling costs down? Hope the company survives. They seemed to have good orders at Farnsborough. A lot of support from the US carriers. There certainly needed to be a change in the company culture, starting at the top. The Boeing "buy out" of Douglas was a disaster for them and when things came off the rails.

Upcoming technology for Airliners and aircraft is something which extends the aircrafts range. This also enables fighter jets to cruise using much less fuel. The technology involves something new for the engine which means it can operate with more power while the engines are not burning fuel or have the fuel cut off completely. This new technology is DECS COMPATIBLE.

I was at Omaka and saw ZK-NVY tip over. It was quite a windy day which made for some super STOL activity. I doubt some of the STOL landings will be beaten in a hurry, and The only time I have seen an aircraft fly backwards! After NVY tipped over they ended the competition.
