Scotty, thanks for these photos! I start the Diploma of Aviation Course at the Academy in June and can honestly say I just CANNOT wait! All this construction work, saving money and watching the days tick by one by one is killing me /dry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= <_< border= 0 alt= dry.gif /> All the best for your future endeavours, Joe.

I haven't done the IOTC, but I have completed recruit course. From what I hear IOTC is recruit course crammed into 7 weeks, plus 7 weeks of officer specific training.. or something along those lines. The best tip I can offer with the PT is practice doing the pushups after a run, make sure you can still do 30+ when you are exhausted from running. Oh, and during PT... don't fidget, don't move unless they tell you to. Squat pulses hurt.

QUOTE (Area51 @ Apr 26 2013,8:41 PM) Is it from the cockpits of King Air MKG, PA31 Mojave WTH and 146-200 ECO? Very nicely done. The Norfolk departure looks interesting, as does the morning arrival at Auckland. Thanks for sharing. I could not tell since i'm from Area51 /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

QUOTE (Ben @ Apr 14 2013,8:52 AM) He ran out of Fuel on take off! OPPS! I can confirm that is WAS NOT the case. The engine failed as they went to make a third touch and go (out of nowhere - no issues/rough running before hand) Knowing both the instructor and student very well, what they did was an incredible piece of airmanship, decision making and pure pilot ability. In fact, the instructor was still briefing the student as he was making the forced landing (almost as though they were simulating it)

Ridiculous waste of tax payers money! We as a country will never move forward if we keep giving into absolute B..S... such as this. On the lighter side i find it funny that they fined him basically a dollar a meter! /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif />

QUOTE (Chairman @ Apr 7 2013,3:19 PM) What it didn't mention is that if I was hearing things correctly there were actually two turnouts to the airport this morning - the first was to the package, the second was to a 737-300 with 3 POB and a dead engine. Sounds sorta familiar .......... Affirm, the 733 was -FXT on a test flight after maintenance. Right hand engine shut down at FL360.

QUOTE (Trolly @ Mar 28 2013,4:08 PM) This story seems fishy- I find it really difficult to believe he mistook a heavily industrialized main road for a runway, especially considering this students instructor considered his flying to be adequate enough to be sent solo from Hamilton. The solo sign-out process isn't the best, and considering a student has gotten lost overhead Cambridge on a nav flight before.... I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. But I doubt he was as low as 3m... maybe 30m? But probably not even that!
