QUOTE (H500Fan @ Jan 16 2011, 10:23 PM) Not sure where they ended up but after filming here they offered one to the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aeroclub as a static display but they turned it down because of the upkeep on keeping it clean and presentable would of been to much Yes absolutely. Aircraft sitting outside a real handful to keep in good shape. Something the size of the Lanc would be a huge amount of work.

QUOTE (Splitpin @ Jan 15 2011, 11:10 PM) What a shame we cant track them down, and bring them home (like QANTAS did) and preserve them in a national aviation heritage centre.... Speaking of historical aircraft /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> the ANZ fleet still includes the last 737-300 ever built (ZK-NGJ) which was delivered to the airline in December 1999

Photo of DHL 727 with only one engine remaining: Photo taken on 24th. Anyone know whats going to happen to it? Demand for this type can't be too high so I assume it will soon be heading for the scrappers. On another note its sad that Continental's plans for Auckland have been delayed. On the other hand it gives Air New Zealand a chance to start another route to North America, that is if they believe there is sufficient demand and if they have enough spare aircraft. Maybe time to order some Boeing 777-200LRs as compensation for late 787s .....or maybe I'm just dreaming /biggrin.gif...

Thanks nzav8tor! It must be this then: QUOTE 43.153 Review requirements (a) Except as provided in paragraph (b), a person performing a review of airworthiness, required under rule 91.615, for an aircraft must, within the 30 day period immediately before certifying that the review has been completed— (1) check that the aircraft conforms to its type certificate data sheet or equivalent type data that is acceptable to the Director; and (2) check that every instrument and item of equipment required under Subpart F of Part 91 is fitted; and (3) for an aircraft that is required under rule...

Some insight from an American here. I think most US airlines now are charging some sort of fee for bags of any size. (Southwest Airlines remains as a major exception to that I believe) Obviously everyone was quite annoyed with the prospect when it was first introduced, but there hasn't been much of an effort organized against the practice. As far as what constitutes a carry on....from what I've seen, it's related more to the dimensions of the bag than the weight here. Other times, it's a case of "carry it on, and if it doesn't fit, just gate-check it (have the baggage...

Happy , Guess they are very pleased to a visitor compliment on the Zurich airport facilities , maybe you should forward this mail to christchurchairport.co.nz , maybe get them change plans slightly with the new terminal update .
