Pretty dang impressive, amazing to think only a couple of years between the both types and evening the bombing mech's used in WWII was not that much different than when the 'Black Buck' mission hit Stanley.

QUOTE (johnkiwi @ Aug 18 2014,12:43 PM) Not all of " the rest of us" escaped... I too have been squeezed out and hung out to dry by horsey pursuits of little darlings! Boy those things can chew up time and serious amounts of cash! much better flight simming I reckon Know that feeling. We broke up 2yrs back and I'm still up at the paddocks regularly... /unsure.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= unsure.gif />

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Aug 15 2014,11:24 PM) Well wouldn't ya think 'aircraft' or 'technical' issues would have been more appropriate Nope, was just a random event. This aircraft is quite a quirky thing. More so than I am used to with previous aircraft.

QUOTE (Splitpin @ Aug 15 2014,5:15 PM) Thanks for the advice etc guys .... just to add insult to injury, i got an email ! telling me my job is over at the end of the month. After 2 years and endless call outs , no weekends etc, i thought a warning phone call may have been nice ....ahhhh the corporate world . There are other contracts coming up , and i knew this one would end ... but not until november . Im in two minds now , do i hang around and wait , or look to other outfits. To be honest any feelings of loyalty are pretty thin at the moment. Back is no better .... still...

QUOTE (emfrat @ Aug 15 2014,2:08 PM) The Earth Simulations stuff is indeed very good, but it is not exactly cheap, and can be very hard on framerates. The New Zealand-produced stuff I have is just as good, better on FRs and better value. So there! /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> I did point out they have some free stuff too, 4 pages of it /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif />

QUOTE (SeanTK @ Aug 12 2014,11:11 AM) Enjoy our hardware! I'm still partial to the C-5, but the C-17 is certainly impressive! Will do, I simply wish I did have a good camera back then, hard to explain engineering features to many, to study the structures and forgings and how its bolted to the airframe ... a jet engine only bolted on by four bolts for an example.
