QUOTE (AlisterC @ Oct 29 2011,9:49 PM) How sad for Qantas. If their staff don't like their working conditions, perhaps they should go find a job somewhere else? It's not like they are slaves afterall. I'm not a fan of strikes etc. It just ends up hurting the end user, in this case all those passengers with ruined plans. Probably because these guys have the balls to stand up and say NO. They want an Australian National Airline not a quasi Asian one. Jobs for Australian people. Why should a CEO who has been in the company for 5 minutes be able to unilaterally change what...

Very Impressive , not only for the aircraft but even for the jigging and the test rig , last test i view was the 777 at aeronautical society meet and they snapped the wing , with a massive explosion , no wonder they evacuated an area of the assembly plant .

Perhaps the England Team could chip in on their behalf as an act of conscience, since they got away with illegally switching balls during the game?

Made it a lot easier if they called the hobbit 'Tintin' ... such a girly name anyway , its a puppet or a dog and or a cartoon /rolleyes.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= rolleyes.gif /> then could get on with the honest epic.

QUOTE (Charl @ Oct 11 2011,10:15 PM) I guess the question remains: Why did Bob Hannah survive a trim tab failure in 1998, and Jimmy Leeward did not... Physiology perhaps... Bob Hannah was 42 at the time, Jimmy Leeward was 74 - Don't think I'm having a dig at old pilots here, but the effect of a sudden 10G pitch-up is going to create some serious stress on anyone's ticker... Young or old. I'd say with his background in top level motor-cross, Bob more than likely had a much higher core strength and a very high level of cardio fitness.

Airbuses don't have these confusing rotary knobs. They have voice recognition. After his toilet break the captain approaches the cockpit and says: " Door, this is your Captain speaking. Let me in. " It opens, and then locks it behind him. The toilet also flushes by itself. The new Boeing Dreamliner also doesn't have any confusing rotary knobs. They are all lozenge-shaped, and some are flavoured.
