At least with a microwave, you've always got something to watch if there's nothing on the tumble drier or the TV :D Watching stuff... I always find it very relaxing to watch the water boiling in my new 2 kw Electric Kettle! Much faster than the water in the saucepan for my Potatoes! ...and as for Paint Drying... :o ... ...! I've never got around to buying the new-fangled, snazzy "Air Fryer"... ..I'm still a happy bunny with my trusty Gas Stove (4 Gas Burners + Gas Grill), and Gas Oven for all my daily Cooking needs! It's amazing how many choices there are on Amazon...

Emfrat, that is indeed true. The "younger generation" don't do anything for me at all. The 'in crowd' are much better to be with because of the age thing.

Yeah, Square Home comes with some lookalike Windows phone widgets, but these are not that reliable, so I tend not to use them. And of course all the apps are Android. Yes, I know it's an Android phone at heart, it just looks so much better though.

Thanks CP and Charl . Hobby, back in the day had the best Airman's mess...great food, a great club (bar) Many a messy night spent there with the resident RNZN team. Charl, you are right , of course...progress vs emotion is a recipe for trouble. And the SNCO's and Warrant Officers Mess was even better! Great garden bar by the water. Had many a messy night there  :D

Day one of the new carpet is done and 3 quarters complete.... just the living/dinning area to finish. Big shout out to Carpet Kingdom here in CHC... Mark and Taylor ...amazing service....kind and considerate. Should all be done and dusted tomorrow, and I and Sam can get every thing back in place over the next few days.

I find one year pretty much like another, or perhaps not. And certainly not particularly different at the end of any given December or the beginning of any January. But let me share this with you: the strange beauty of the number attached to this year.

Ok, resolutions then... I can't help thinking that it might be time to stop worrying and start enjoying life. I had decided to spend my life pretty much on my own after my son and grandkids moved to Australia a few years ago. Now here I am, living with my other son and daughter-in-law, their little boy and another on the way. My daughter (? -- I still call her that, although she officially changed her name to Theo last year -- luckily her pronouns are 'she' and 'they' so it was an easy transition) and her partner live in a tiny house on the driveway. I had hoped to take a break when my...

We get 48 500ml bottles per brew, for less than $1 each. Of course we had to drink a lot of imported stuff to build up a supply of bottles, but that couldn't be helped. Life wasn't meant to be easy  Haha, love your commitment

I saw... the Israelis are going: Guys, just leave all of this to us. You just muzzle your press, we'll do everything else, after we tidy up in Gaza and Lebanon and Syria. Maybe Iran. Doge Musk is going: will save a bundle! :groupwave:

Yes. I think of all the "YouTube Movies" I have, or the "Prime Video" movies and one mis-step (according to them) and I could lose the whole lot. Crazy world. I reckon MS Flight Sim 2028 will be a full subscription model stream fully from the cloud; whaddaya reckon?

Charl, that's one thing I never did ....no bus vs car incidents. I did however, sadly, have a sheep strike. Was heading out of Mt Cook on a day trip back to CHC with a Japanese group. Somewhere between there and Glentanner, I noticed a large mob of Merinos off to my right, heading for the road. Not unusual as there was a local station in the area, and the sheep went where they wanted, contained by cattle stops. Its amazing how the brain takes over ....within seconds the calculations were done, taking into account my forward speed, the distance between us, and the angle they were coming from,...

With MAFFS, the retardent can cover an area a quarter mile long and 100 ft wide, from the 22nd Air Force page. Has a capacity of 10,000 litres and can discharge the entire load in five seconds. It's a purpose designed ro-ro unit to the C-130 without any structural changes to the aircraft. So, why don't we have any here for the fire season....

 In truth, the rear view of a fanned peacock is already a little comical... well done mate , you displaced a 747-8 I will tell him, he loves being praised. The Rodney tag came from a neighbour whose daughter attached it. Nobody would think of calling him anything different. And it goes beyond that - he is mascot and anchor tenant for what will become another Cornwall Park, in 100 years time. The district is fully engaged.
