Very interesting background. They could be telling the same story as the VC10 and BOAC. For those who didn't know, Watford to LHR as the Trident flies is only 13 miles - and they made a straight in approach and landing from 31000 ft! :o Thanks for posting that CP Mike

Comes in handy for identifying a Embraer 145 versus a CRJ700 for example. Not that there are many flying around here at the moment.

It's quite amazing just how many Folks (miscreants) we shipped abroad for various reasons!.... :wink2: .... :wink2: ... ...! Yes the Aussies have learnt to do that too with their 501 "repatriations".

Wevver stuff... ..from up here in The Land of the Angles and Saxons... ...and a few Danes...>>>> (I have my weather temperatures measured in Fahrenheit, and wind speed calibrated in Miles Per Hour as we did in Olden Times before we got "Metricated" by the Continental Crowd!)*. Getting slowly warmer here now, as Summer approaches. We are all in lock-down, unable to enjoy the sun, and nowhere to go! It doesn't look as though I will be able to enjoy my usual Motorcycle and video rides for the remainder of this year for safety reasons....! Another year wasted, and I haven't...

That's pretty cool Riddlez. Am on iOS guy myself sadly. Does it just keep on looping? or does it change background as the time changes? Thanks mate! I wouldn't mind doing a OSX version of it, though I'm not much of a programmer and struggled with this one haha. Yeah it keeps looping every 15 seconds. I have 3 versions day night, day and sunset. The file size will be massive if it went longer at 1080p, so I had to be extremely conservative. I'm open for ideas, there are so many landscapes I could add do to fly over!

I put in a wall unit with a large glass display case with room for about 150 models in 1/72nd scale. When there are more of them, there is always a part in the magazine. Problem. Cleaning is a nightmare.

Hope it’s not too personal, I hope you’ll be able to get your hands back on the real yoke soon :) So do I but I can't really see that happening for a long time. There is zero flying programmed for the 777 for the next 2 rosters which takes us to 21 Jun. Only 23 captains (out of 147) will remain on the fleet being Instructors and Check captains. This is to allow them to try and maintain some type of currency and be ready to go when things start to pick up. In fact there is no plans for the 777 until April 2021. That is a lot of tin to have lying around. There is a lot of downtraining to do and...

They're pretty terrific shots there Marty, well done. On a slight side note, right now, 50 years ago, Apollo 13 was closing in on the moon. If you want to follow along with the flight in real time, this site allows you to view all of the film and pictures and listen to all of the audio. For me, the period of about four hours after the O2 tank rupture is far more exciting than any movie...

So sorry to hear this Rob. I was lucky to visit my mum in Auckland and say goodbye the day before she passed, just as I had returned back to Wellington. Ah the good old days, I still remember them like last month <_<

The family, (an import from Eastern Europe), in the house opposite to me who recently moved into the privately rented property moved out again yesterday, I suspect because they could no longer pay the rent, being out of work due to the Virus! There will be a lot more folks like that with no income, I fear! I live in a big 3-bedroomed Council House with a massive garden, which I moved into in 1962, and have paid the rent promptly every week, (direct debit from my bank), with the aid from my Company Private Pension and Old Age pension, (I retired in 1984..woo-hoo!). The only reason we are...
