Charl ...I dont think "worse" is the right word. You have injected yet another layer into this line of thinking ...I also concur with your "no" after some deliberation...but, I still have niggles, but nothing that would sway me (at the moment) Ahhhh Quantum....

I'm with you Marty - our press has headlines about 2 Australians being on the ship, and they mention in passing 2 New Zealanders, but the rest of the crews, 39 Filipinos, hardly get a mention

Did you know the Brits were a strong contender to deliver the bomb? I had this Mark Felton clip pushed to me yesterday. To answer the question: per WikiP perhaps we are headed in the right direction. From a high of 70,300 nuclear weapons in 1986, we are down to "only" 13,890. They are dismantling all Nuclear weapons and using the Plutonium for next generation Hybrid Plutonium Powerplants and Plutonium SteamShip PowerPlants which can carry up to a million tons into space......Someone's Patents! B-)

Very interesting background. They could be telling the same story as the VC10 and BOAC. For those who didn't know, Watford to LHR as the Trident flies is only 13 miles - and they made a straight in approach and landing from 31000 ft! :o Thanks for posting that CP Mike

Comes in handy for identifying a Embraer 145 versus a CRJ700 for example. Not that there are many flying around here at the moment.
