This is a very similar issue to the other thread here talking about sunscreen... A secure certificate (SSL) is good to have, especially if you collect information which really shouldn't be available to anyone else, such as credit card details, but it is the sunscreen of internet security. SSL only stops someone from hijacking the connection between you and the server, whereas I think that most hacking is directly against the server, or your PC. Recently SSL has become another commodity, to be sold via fear tactics. These days, the only reason why most sites think they require SSL is to...

Netflix is very good but the business model is flawed and they are hemorrhaging cash. They are expected to have a negative cashflow of some N$4.5 billion this year. There will be some drastic changes ahead unfortunately. They have now head hunted the CEO of Activision to see if they can turn their fortunes around. A classic case of a business that had huge start up seed capital but a business model, that although popular with the consumer (like Uber), just doesn't make economic sense.. It will probably eventually work out but not not in it's current form or for $18 a month with multiple...

Well the future is very good for Humankind regarding space exploration in the future people will have the chance to fly to the moon and other planets. There will be intergalactic tourism and people will get to see not only the Milky way but other galaxies. At the moment the Milky way has stopped moving and some other galaxies are still moving so we can observe galaxies moving from Earth what is interesting is if we should travel there then those planets with rings would not yet have them deployed so I'm interested in going there and checking it out. Its possible to travel to the other side of...

Well, I'm back at work today, this afternoon anyway. I realised that I hadn't run any simulator all year, which gave me a fright -- I was thinking maybe I'd reached burnout, but this arvo I fired up Prepar3d to check some work on my lights, and it actually looked quite good, so I probably just needed the wee break. First up was to solve some lighting problems around NZCH, including one light which had somehow changed from a 'normal' light effect on a pole, to a dynamic search-light thing. I'd been trying to sort this for a month, but today I discovered that the 'default' effect has changed in...

Yes, those are certainly beautiful, you are spot-on calling it iconic. However at the moment I have a Spitty aversion, since I'm trying to model the one on the stick in the shopping centre near the airport....

Paul -- thanks, I'll add that to my holiday list next year. Enjoy your gravy! The other Paul -- bear in mind that Real NZ Wellington doesn't really work well with Orbx NZ, which is why it has been demoted to freeware.

Thanks Nick ...it is indeed better than a kick to the nads. Just hope I look as good as the big guy in 20 years .... seems to me, that "oldies", these days with an interest, seem to outlast those that dont. 80 is the new 60....which makes me feel good ^_^
