Marty, from what I see around the 'Net, the power is off all over the place in S. Japan. The simple explanations are often the right ones. Hang in there! My best wishes to you and yours. Mike

This report on our ABC website this evening. It's good to see that some folk still do the right thing. I hadn't known that Mr Tull was a Kiwi.

Good to see you are slowly getting into cooking nice stuff, Marty! You will get to enjoy it, and feel happier and healthier! It's nice having all your time to yourself! Been doing it since 1984 when I took early retirement, with a Pension!.... :groupwave: ....! ...and as you say...(the American way)..."It is what it is"......"It's awesome".... ...! CP, ain't that grand .... not that fussed on all that purple , but Im sure I could adjust :) They really are a work of art (747-8) ...and those beautiful engines  But 500,000,000 :ph43r: ..... would go along way helping those poor people in Yemen ...almost next door. Isn't the middle east is a place of extreme contrast, in a lot of areas. Great post CP

I hear you! We have just installed a home automation system. Just for the gates and alarm system at the moment and with no Amazon Echo or Nest or Google home integration (as I'm not sure I even want that.). The lights, entertainment and irrigation modules will come later. It is one of those devices that feeds on time and therefore money. It's like having another wife...troublesome and expensive. Interestingly the installer said that Google home and Amazon Echo listen in and send data all the time. He just happened to notice a lot of data streaming online even when no request was being made....

It is terrible how things can pile up in a very short time, so you get to the stage where you are expecting trouble. We all need a 'breather', and I certainly hope that things settle down for you. The older we get, the more likely our friends and family are going to have health issues, these days people live a lot longer, and staying healthy long-term becomes less and less likely. And I find that the older I get, the fewer 'great' things happen, so I have to grab what I can, which is why I live vicariously through my kids. One small tip -- forget what happening in the rest of the world, at...

I've said before I'm a big fan of local content on our telly, but a little bit of 'Wellington Paranormal' goes a long way... This is a take-off of the current crop of cop ride-along reality shows, which is certainly not my thing -- never seen one, never will. You know the sort of thing, they are advertised constantly, normally with all the faces blurred out. Wellington Paranormal, on the other hand, only tends to blur genitals.... Minogue and O'Leary were the two cop characters in Taika Waititi's film 'What We Do in the Shadows', and they did such a good job they were given a TV spinoff. They...
