Was just reading a book about Air America and they had the same issue in Vietnam where all of the mil traffic was on UHF. It did lead to some accidents so it's nothing new

My condolences to you Paul I know what you are going through as I am in the middle of sorting out my daughters estate after she also took her own life last month at the age of 53. Maybe if they could see the devastation caused to those family members and friend they leave behind they might think more about what they are doing.

Probably 80% of what I watch is via Netflix. What's missing from that, though, is anything NZ. My 'hobby' is NZ, and I do aim for as much local content as I can get. Lightbox (which I get for free with my broadband) was meant to have the best local stuff, but that doesn't really pan out in reality. So a daily dose of kiwi accents and local culture suits me fine. Plus they play a lot of Hollie Smith as ambient music....

Just a quick follow-up here, my son and his wife were planning to return to Bogata next week, but they've decided to shift to NZ! My son will stay on to find work, and his wife will return home to close up the business etc. A real surprise to me, but I'm thrilled. They hope to settle in Wellington, they are there at the moment staying with my daughter.

Your right in the spark being a selfie drone. I suggest it to people who have not got the money to spend on a Mavic or phantom 4. You can do a fair bit with a spark, but the camera is not as good compared to the Mavic or Phantom 4. The selfie is pretty big these days.

Good job, Paul. I was tempted to try a roast myself, but really it's the wrong season for that here -- so seafood and salad for me. Christmas day was weird, my kids were at their mother's this year, although I was invited I don't do Christmas with the ex. We get on great, and it has been 20 years since we separated, but I still don't fancy the idea of Christmas together.... So I settled down for some Christmas movies, first up The Sound of Music, this was the first time I've seen this in HD, so it was still an amazing experience even though I've seen it dozens of times. Then there were a...

Back in those days, while we were waiting for USB to take the world by storm, getting pics from the digital camera to the PC was a real ordeal. For one thing, a set of fully charged batteries wouldn't sustain the download of more than a few photos. The 'fix' for this was a floppy adapter, which you stuck the memory card into, and the PC saw it as a normal floppy disc. Amazing tech! One thing which amazes me is that I was talking about buying a 8MB memory card for my camera, at $69. These days my 'goto' memory card is 4,000 times that size, and half the price... You've need four 8MB cards to...

I sometimes look after a farm for a friend close by at Kowai bush , perched above the waimak . We sometimes horse trek out at Rubicon Valley and recently looked at a Kowai Bush property, a rather quirky house with a loft master bedroom accessed via a spiral wrought iron staircase. Loved it, trouble was it wasn't fully double-glazed and thought it just a bit far off the beaten track. Congrats Dorian, looks like a beaut spot !!!! Thanks. It really is a great spot. First thing we are going to have to purchase is a generator ... just learned there have been 5 blackouts this year alone!
