Talking about olden Times...and the year "2006".... Anyone remember the flight sim forum; "Simviation"... started by Pete Daly ? I jonined it in 2006, and have been a Member there ever since, popping in every day! It was the Lads in Simviation that dragged me kicking anf screaming into FSNZ in 2010, when a tour of the Australia and New Zealand Coast was organized, and took place, in Multiplayer... on line! The one thing that has always got me permanantlty attached to FSNZ is the "Chat" forum, where i can have fun with evey day! ...and dont forget the Motorcycle...

Time for some new candidates (please)! Otherwise the stand-in by yours truly gets used ... and we don't want that, do we?

Certainly a nice looking aircraft. I would have thought that it would cruise faster than 150 kts. Sleek, carbon and with retractable gear, I would have thought that it would be around the 170 mark.

I just remembered that one is an AD-4W...I think. When the Brits retired the type, the radars were fitted to the early version of the Shackleton.

Jankees, The funny thing is that 10 hours later after my posted question, my tv was showing history of participation of that SAME plane and SAME livery in the Vietnam war and how that plane managed to shoot down MIG-17s in dogfights!! Regards, Aharon

The Able Dog... The Flying Dumptruck...Sandy. The Skyraider holds the "distinction"of dropping a toilet "bomb" and a kitchen sink on the Bad Guys. It excelled in its role as Combat SAR cover, the NVA didn't much like Skyraiders.

The colour scheme, typical from 1941 onwards instead of green and brown, did indeed exist.

Charl: Thanks Charl! Yes — that’s exactly how it feels: like a Caravan with a bit more muscle. And that’s a perfect match for flying in Nepal. I’ll check out the link you shared. Splitpin: Thanks a lot! The terrain looks intimidating, but the 408 actually gives you a good sense of reserve in the climbs. Glad it made your must-have list! jankees: Thanks! It really does feel like the Twotter’s little brother — just a bit more modern and calmer to handle. I had a great time with it. Aharon: Thank you! This hop ended the classic way: into Kathmandu, runway 02. A beautiful approach, especially in...

Yes, I have considered this package. Are those apron markings a confusing mess or what? Imagine trying to park on a wet night. I guess the 777 disappeared after landing due to no large gates available to park at. That's actually been improved since the late 2010's. It was much much worse.

That's a great set of shots of the RAAF Black Cat...actually, stunning is how I would describe them.
