I absolutely agree, Charl - the effects are always troublesome. No wonder with the scenery based effects, these were made for FSX. The props are perfect in principal. But there is a difference between how they are displayed with various graphic cards - NVidia and AMD is my best guess here. The same prop disk looks perfect on John Young's and many other computers. Not so on mine. We have tried to troubleshoot this big time, but to no avail. I have never seen that in reality, but I know it happened. I love how cloudy/hazy weather looks in P3Dv5, while sunny environment is not to my liking....

The weather. . . . Honestly, I always find it exciting to be confronted with dynamic weather and have the appropriate knob in the settings always on the right. I prefer to restrict the graphics elsewhere . . . but not in the weather. Airplanes with spur wheel chassis are always interesting to me. Now that there are good models of the Cessna 170 and also the small Cessna 140, I fly them more often than the more modern patterns.

Away from Boeing and Airbus there are also a few possibilities to fly short distances. . . The original gave and gives us a lot of possibilities. When it comes to graphical options such as shadows, I have to be a little cautious about that. An 8 year old I5 760 with fabulous 8GB RAM forces compromises. At the moment, hardware swapping is not at the top of the list of priorities. THERE are compromises to be made.

If you press the Quote button on ScottyB's post, you can see what's wrong. Seems to be a Google thing. I could see the pics when they were first posted, but all it says now is 'Image'

If I use Ryanair between Riga and Berlin, I arrive in Schönefeld and that is - with permission - an Aldi airport.... For our New Zealand friends as a hint. Aldi is a German discounter, whose shops are very unloving and cheaply furnished, and who offers no service . . . and therefore is very inexpensive . . .
